- • Pebl Technologies Inc. is seeking a visionary Vice President (VP) of Data to spearhead the company's data strategy, infrastructure, and AI integration, driving the evolution of their AI-first Global Work Platform™. This pivotal role is instrumental in transforming vast amounts of global employment and compliance data into secure, accessible, and actionable insights that fuel the company's rapid scaling and competitive edge in the future of global work. The VP of Data will act as the chief storyteller for the company's data assets and the primary evangelist for an "AI Everywhere" initiative, ensuring that data and artificial intelligence are deeply embedded across all facets of the business, from R&D to core business functions.
- • In this highly technical and hands-on role, the VP of Data will be responsible for architecting the future of Pebl’s modern data infrastructure, serving as the ultimate technical authority on data engineering. This includes ensuring the development and maintenance of highly scalable, performant, and reliable data pipelines that can handle the complexities of global employment data. A critical aspect of this responsibility involves championing and enforcing strict data security, privacy, and governance protocols to safeguard sensitive global payroll, HR, and compliance data. The individual will also be tasked with driving actionable business insights by transforming complex datasets into clear, strategic recommendations. This involves close collaboration with Marketing and Sales teams to optimize growth funnels, customer acquisition costs (CAC), and conversion rates, as well as partnering with Operations, Finance, and Legal departments to enhance billing accuracy, expedite payroll processing, and strengthen compliance tracking mechanisms. A significant focus will be placed on championing an "AI Everywhere" approach, making Pebl a truly AI-native company. This includes bringing advanced AI capabilities to R&D offerings, such as enhancing their compliance assistant, Alfie, and actively engaging with Marketing, Sales, Operations, Finance, and Legal to embed AI into their daily workflows, thereby driving substantial internal efficiency gains.
- • The VP of Data will also serve as a crucial bridge between deep technical R&D work and overarching business objectives, mastering the art of data storytelling to present complex insights in a compelling manner to the executive team and the board of directors. This communication expertise is vital for aligning technical initiatives with strategic business goals and ensuring buy-in from key stakeholders. Furthermore, the role demands strong leadership capabilities, acting as a hands-on, execution-oriented leader who is committed to delivering tangible business results. This involves actively recruiting top-tier talent to assemble a high-performing team of data engineers, analysts, and AI specialists, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and psychological safety. This nurturing environment is essential for cultivating a company-wide data-driven mindset and ensuring that every team member feels empowered to contribute their best work.

🎯 Requirements
- • Extensive Technical Background: 15+ years of experience in data engineering, data science, or analytics, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- • Modern Stack Mastery: Deep, hands-on expertise orchestrating a modern data infrastructure stack including Snowflake, Fivetran, Atlan, Looker, and Monte Carlo.
- • AI/ML Track Record: Proven experience deploying LLMs, machine learning models, and AI tools for both production products and internal operational workflows.
- • Cross-Functional Business Acumen: Demonstrated ability to collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Operations, Finance, and Legal to tie data initiatives directly to top-line growth and bottom-line efficiency.
- • Exceptional Communication: A track record of weaving data into compelling business narratives for non-technical stakeholders.
- • Work Style: Ability to work from our Palo Alto office Monday through Wednesday to collaborate directly with the executive and R&D teams.
