📋 Description

• Lead and scale Chainalysis’ global Accounting organization, ensuring operational excellence and scalability across all accounting functions worldwide.
• Oversee core accounting operations including General Ledger Accounting, Financial Reporting, Technical Accounting, Revenue Recognition, Consolidations, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Tax Compliance, Treasury Operations, and Travel & Expense.
• Build and develop a high-performing global accounting team with strong leadership depth, accountability, collaboration, and a culture of continuous operational improvement.
• Own and improve monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to deliver timely and accurate financial reporting in strict compliance with US GAAP.
• Ensure accounting policies and practices adhere to US GAAP and global standards, particularly in complex areas such as SaaS revenue recognition, equity compensation, acquisitions, and commissions.
• Lead the maturation of Chainalysis’ accounting environment toward public-company readiness, including SOX compliance, SEC-readiness, and PCAOB-level audit preparedness.
• Serve as the primary executive owner and point of contact for external auditors during global audits.
• Drive operational excellence by simplifying, standardizing, automating, and disciplining processes, systems, and team workflows across the global accounting function.
• Partner strategically with leaders across Finance, Legal, Sales, RevOps, Product, People, IT, and executive leadership to align accounting, controls, and systems with scalable business growth.
• Provide practical, solutions-oriented accounting guidance to support effective decision-making across the organization.
• Advise the CFO and executive leadership team on accounting strategy, operational scalability, organizational design, and financial infrastructure decisions.
• Support acquisitions and strategic transactions through financial due diligence, purchase accounting, integration planning, and post-close operational integration.
• Champion the modernization of the accounting organization through automation, AI-enabled workflows, scalable systems, and data-driven insights to enhance efficiency and employee experience.
• Lead the evolution of finance systems infrastructure, including ERP, billing, procurement, payroll, and reporting tools, in partnership with Finance and IT teams to eliminate manual processes and accelerate adoption of modern technologies.
• Foster a culture that empowers teams to challenge legacy processes, drive innovation, and continuously raise operational standards in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Act as a culture ambassador and transformational leader through periods of rapid organizational change and scaling.

🎯 Requirements

• 15+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience within high-growth technology, SaaS, fintech, financial infrastructure, data, or similarly dynamic global organizations.
• Proven experience leading and scaling global accounting organizations across multiple entities, regions, and stages of growth, including complex, scaled, and operationally mature environments.
• Deep technical accounting expertise and strong knowledge of US GAAP in complex and evolving business environments.
• Experience building or maturing an accounting organization toward public-company readiness, including PCAOB-level audits, SOX environments, SEC-readiness, and scalable governance processes.
• Strong operational leadership skills with a track record of scaling organizations, improving processes, strengthening controls, and driving operational excellence.
• BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA strongly preferred.
