- • The Vice President, Government and Public Affairs leads Havenpark Communities' government relations and public affairs function, protecting and advancing the company's interests across state and local policy environments while supporting the CEO and executive team on politically and reputationally sensitive events.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include managing state and local policy risks such as rent control, vacancy control, zoning and entitlement, fair return petitions, state regulator activity, and Attorney General inquiries; building government affairs infrastructure in the absence of a strong national trade group; and collaborating with federal lobbyists on episodic federal exposure.
- • Havenpark Communities is the 5th largest owner-operator of manufactured home communities in the U.S., operating nearly 30,000 home sites across 25 states with a portfolio exceeding $4 billion, partnering with institutional capital providers including major U.S. public pensions.
- • The role offers a high-growth opportunity for a mid-career professional to own a critical function, work directly with the CEO and executive team, and advance into expanded leadership as the company scales its institutional equity platform.
🎯 Requirements
- • Experience in government relations, public affairs, or policy advocacy, particularly at the state and local level
- • Proven ability to manage complex policy issues such as rent control, zoning, and regulatory compliance in the real estate or housing sector
- • Strong relationship-building skills with policymakers, regulators, and community stakeholders
- • Strategic thinking and initiative-taking ability to build infrastructure in environments lacking institutional support
- • Experience working closely with C-suite executives and advising on reputationally sensitive matters
- • Background in real estate, housing policy, or manufactured housing industry is preferred
