- • Architect and own the end-to-end vision and execution of Pebl’s modern data infrastructure, ensuring scalable, performant, and reliable data pipelines that support global payroll, HR, and compliance operations.
- • Serve as the ultimate technical authority on data engineering, responsible for maintaining the integrity, security, and governance of sensitive global employment data across 185+ countries.
- • Transform complex datasets into clear, actionable business insights that directly influence growth strategies across Marketing and Sales, including optimization of CAC, conversion rates, and customer lifecycle performance.
- • Collaborate with Operations, Finance, and Legal teams to improve billing accuracy, accelerate payroll processing, and enhance compliance tracking using data-driven solutions.
- • Lead the “AI Everywhere” initiative by embedding AI and machine learning capabilities into core product offerings such as the compliance assistant, Alfie, and internal operational workflows.
- • Partner directly with Marketing, Sales, Operations, Finance, and Legal to identify opportunities for AI adoption that drive efficiency, reduce manual effort, and improve decision-making across departments.
- • Act as the primary translator between technical R&D teams and executive leadership, translating complex data findings into compelling narratives for the C-suite and board of directors.
- • Master the art of data storytelling to communicate insights in ways that drive strategic alignment, secure buy-in, and influence business priorities across global functions.
- • Recruit, build, and lead a high-performing team of data engineers, data analysts, and AI specialists, ensuring alignment with company-wide objectives and technical excellence.
- • Foster a culture of continuous learning, psychological safety, and data-driven decision-making throughout the organization, encouraging adoption of analytics and AI tools beyond the central data team.
- • Maintain strict adherence to global data privacy and security protocols to safeguard regulated data across international jurisdictions.
- • Work in-person from the Palo Alto office Monday through Wednesday to ensure close collaboration with executive leadership and R&D teams.
- • Ensure all data initiatives are tightly aligned with business outcomes, measuring impact on top-line growth and bottom-line efficiency across all departments.
- • Evaluate, select, and optimize the modern data stack including Snowflake, Fivetran, Atlan, Looker, and Monte Carlo to support real-time analytics and governance needs.
- • Drive the integration of LLMs and ML models into both customer-facing products and internal tools, ensuring robust testing, monitoring, and iterative improvement.
- • Establish and enforce data quality standards, monitoring tools, and alerting systems to maintain trust in data outputs across the organization.
- • Champion cross-functional data literacy by working directly with non-technical teams to equip them with insights, dashboards, and self-service tools.
- • Maintain a hands-on leadership style, participating in technical reviews, pipeline design, and system troubleshooting while managing strategic priorities.
🎯 Requirements
- • 15+ years of experience in data engineering, data science, or analytics, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- • Deep, hands-on expertise with the modern data stack: Snowflake, Fivetran, Atlan, Looker, and Monte Carlo.
- • Proven experience deploying LLMs, machine learning models, and AI tools in production for both customer products and internal operational workflows.
- • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Operations, Finance, and Legal teams to align data initiatives with business outcomes.
- • Exceptional track record of translating complex technical data into compelling narratives for non-technical executives and board members.
- • Willingness and ability to work in-person from the Palo Alto office Monday through Wednesday.
