📋 Description

• • Devoted Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Visual Designer for a crucial 3-4 month contract role, focused on evolving our brand's visual identity and digital design system. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on how Devoted Health communicates its mature and scaled presence within the healthcare ecosystem. You will be instrumental in refining our existing brand to ensure it resonates with our primary audience of Medicare beneficiaries aged 65+ while simultaneously projecting credibility to partners, potential talent, and the broader healthcare industry.
• • Your core responsibility will be to conduct a comprehensive audit of Devoted Health's current visual brand assets, including color palettes, typography, iconography, imagery, and overall visual personality. Based on this audit, you will provide a clear, actionable assessment, identifying elements to preserve, refine, or replace to align with our strategic goals.
• • A key deliverable will be the design of an evolved visual identity that effectively conveys trust, warmth, clarity, and credibility, all within the sensitive context of healthcare. This new identity will serve as the foundation for a modular, scalable, and digital-first design system.
• • You will be responsible for creating this robust design system, encompassing foundational elements, design tokens, detailed component-level guidance, and clear rules for theming and extensibility. This system will be designed to function seamlessly across various platforms and applications.
• • To validate the coherence, flexibility, and practical application of the design system, you will apply it to representative touchpoints. This includes designing templates for our public website and key screens for the member portal, ensuring a consistent and high-quality user experience.
• • A critical aspect of this role involves designing with a strong emphasis on accessibility. You will adhere to WCAG 2.1 AA+ standards, with particular attention paid to the specific needs of older adults (aged 65+). This includes considerations for larger default type sizes, high contrast ratios, simplified layouts, and clear visual hierarchy to ensure usability for all members.
• • You will be tasked with delivering comprehensive documentation for the design system and brand guidelines. This documentation will be suitable for a range of stakeholders, including fellow designers, front-end engineers, and marketing teams, ensuring clear understanding and consistent implementation.
• • To facilitate seamless integration, you will provide implementation guidance that is compatible with our existing Prismic-based website architecture and the React/Storybook environment used for the member portal. This ensures a smooth handoff to the front-end engineer who will be implementing the system.
• • Furthermore, you will derive guidance for print materials, such as welcome kits, benefit summaries, ID cards, and direct mail pieces, ensuring that the visual consistency established in the digital-first system is extended to all brand touchpoints.
• • This role requires a strategic thinker who can balance brand evolution with practical implementation, ensuring the design system is not only aesthetically sound but also functional, scalable, and accessible for Devoted Health's diverse user base.
