  • • The Vice President of BSA & Sanctions Program Risk Management is a senior leadership role responsible for identifying, assessing, and monitoring risks across the Bank’s Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Sanctions programs. This position ensures the institution’s financial crime defenses are robust, compliant with evolving regulatory expectations, and aligned with the Bank’s risk appetite, serving as a critical safeguard against illicit activity and reputational harm.
  • • The role provides second-line oversight, strategic guidance, and cross-functional leadership to strengthen the Bank’s ability to detect, prevent, and report suspicious activity, while fostering a culture of compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
  • • Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting and maintaining enterprise-wide BSA/AML & Sanctions risk assessments covering all products, services, customer types, and geographies; partnering with business and technology teams to evaluate risks for new initiatives prior to launch; establishing, tracking, and reporting key performance indicators (KPIs) and key risk indicators (KRIs) to measure program effectiveness and detect emerging trends; assisting in the preparation of executive-level reports and presentations for senior leadership, board committees, and regulators; monitoring regulatory developments and industry trends to proactively recommend program enhancements; providing oversight of third-party program managers and partners performing BSA/AML/Sanctions functions; ensuring business line activities comply with program requirements and risk appetite; offering risk-based recommendations on control design, policy development, and process improvements; collaborating with Internal Audit, Enterprise Risk Management, and other control functions to align risk identification and mitigation strategies; providing leadership, mentoring, and professional development to staff; supporting talent management including hiring, performance management, and succession planning; fostering a culture of compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement; and leading or participating in special projects and cross-functional initiatives.
