📋 Description

• • As VP of Data at Breakout Prop (a Kraken-backed crypto-native proprietary trading platform), you will take ownership of an existing data function and scale it to match the company’s next stage of growth, reporting directly to the COO with full mandate to elevate data maturity across the business.
• • Day to day, you will evolve current data pipelines and infrastructure into a reliable, scalable data platform, expand self-serve analytics so teams can access insights independently, grow and lead the data team through hiring and mentoring, establish data governance and quality standards, build data products where AI agents are first-class consumers of the data layer, leverage Kraken’s global infrastructure, and partner with product, finance, ops, and growth to embed data into strategic decisions.
• • Breakout Prop is a lean, high-conviction team of 35 where every hire genuinely shapes the company; data sits at the heart of trading, risk management, and decision-making, making this role a core part of the company’s competitive edge rather than a support function. You’ll work alongside traders, engineers, and operators who move fast, think rigorously, and hold each other to a high bar in a fast-moving crypto trading environment.
