- • Lead the strategic direction and execution of Synchrony's global desktop engineering initiatives, encompassing physical and virtual endpoint platforms across Windows, macOS, and ChromeOS.
- • Drive the modernization of the end-user compute ecosystem, ensuring it is secure, scalable, and aligned with business objectives and technological advancements.
- • Own the end-to-end lifecycle management of enterprise operating systems, from initial engineering and image creation to ongoing patching, updates, and eventual retirement.
- • Develop and maintain robust OS images for Windows and macOS, ensuring consistency, security, and optimal performance across the global fleet.
- • Govern the ChromeOS management and update strategy, defining policies and procedures for secure and efficient deployment and maintenance.
- • Define and enforce hardware standards for endpoints, including rigorous OEM model testing and comprehensive driver, BIOS, and firmware update processes to ensure compatibility and stability.
- • Engineer and optimize configuration baselines, performance settings, and endpoint hardening standards across all supported operating systems to meet security and operational requirements.
- • Design, implement, and manage advanced modern endpoint management solutions using Microsoft Intune, including comprehensive policy configuration for device management, application deployment, compliance enforcement, and security baselines.
- • Lead the strategy and execution of Windows Autopilot workflows, encompassing device registration, profile assignment, hybrid and Azure AD join models, validation, and efficient device reset/reprovisioning processes.
- • Provide critical support and strategic direction for SCCM infrastructure in co-management scenarios, ensuring seamless integration with Intune for packaging, patching, and deployment pipelines.
- • Drive the strategic roadmap and integration of a diverse suite of endpoint management tools, including Intune, SCCM, Ivanti, Tanium, JAMF, and Google Admin Console, to create a unified and efficient management framework.
- • Optimize the performance, patching, and application compatibility of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS) platforms, such as Citrix Cloud, AWS WorkSpaces, AppStream, and Microsoft Cloud PC.
- • Support specialized VDI requirements, including the seamless integration and operation of Microsoft 365 products and services within Citrix environments.
- • Serve as the primary Desktop Engineering point of contact for audit readiness, meticulously collecting evidence, validating technical controls, and tracking remediation efforts to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- • Implement and maintain robust endpoint security controls, including Microsoft Defender, Attack Surface Reduction (ASR) rules, and BitLocker encryption, ensuring alignment with relevant regulatory expectations such as SOX and PCI.
- • Manage macOS EFI/firmware and device password standards, coordinating necessary JAMF integrations to enforce security policies and streamline management.
- • Enhance endpoint performance and user experience by leveraging telemetry insights from tools like Nexthink, identifying trends, and driving targeted remediation efforts.
- • Foster strong collaborative partnerships with Desktop Operations and End User Computing (EUC) teams to ensure smooth transition of engineered solutions into scalable production deployments and support models.
- • Lead in-depth root cause analysis for systemic endpoint issues, implementing durable corrective actions to prevent recurrence and improve overall system reliability.
- • Continuously evaluate and champion new tools and modernization opportunities, including advancements in Autopilot/Intune, emerging telemetry solutions, and updated security baselines, to maintain a cutting-edge endpoint environment.
- • Ensure operational excellence by defining and implementing best practices for endpoint management, deployment, and support across all platforms and technologies.
- • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Security, Risk & Compliance, Cloud Engineering, and Network Operations to ensure holistic endpoint strategy and integration.
- • Communicate technical strategies, roadmaps, and complex issues effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- • Mentor and guide a team of desktop engineering professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and high performance.
- • Contribute to the overall IT strategy by providing expert insights into endpoint technology trends and their potential impact on Synchrony's business operations.
- • Manage vendor relationships and evaluate new technologies to ensure Synchrony remains at the forefront of endpoint management capabilities.
