- • As the incoming VP of Marketing at Tremendous Inc., you will be instrumental in shaping the future of a rapidly growing, profitable, and bootstrapped company that is revolutionizing how businesses send bulk payouts globally. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead and expand our 17-person marketing team, taking ownership of the entire marketing function. This includes spearheading demand generation, product marketing, corporate marketing, and brand design, with the ultimate goal of establishing Tremendous as the default solution for all non-payroll payments worldwide.
- • Your primary mission will be to drive awareness and discoverability, ensuring that when any company needs to pay individuals anywhere in the world – whether for research incentives, referral bonuses, employee rewards, customer rebates, contractor payments, or any other purpose – Tremendous is the immediate and obvious choice. This involves developing and executing comprehensive strategies that resonate with our diverse customer base, which spans marketers, researchers, HR teams, and nonprofits.
- • You will lead the full spectrum of marketing activities. This means not only overseeing the generation of qualified leads and opportunities across both sales-led and self-serve channels but also defining and refining our product positioning. Furthermore, you will be responsible for how Tremendous presents itself visually and narratively in the market, ensuring a consistent and compelling brand identity.
- • As a key member of the leadership team, you will collaborate closely with the CEO, COO, and other VPs to contribute to the overall strategic direction of the company. Your insights and expertise will be crucial in steering Tremendous towards its ambitious growth objectives, extending beyond the marketing department to influence broader business decisions.
- • A core responsibility will be owning pipeline generation. You will be tasked with driving measurable results by focusing on proven customer segments while simultaneously exploring and testing new channels and audiences to unlock untapped growth potential.
- • You will inherit a high-performing marketing team and will be responsible for its continued development and success. This includes fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement, ensuring that each team member is empowered to contribute their best work and grow their careers within Tremendous.
- • Bringing rigorous analytical thinking to the forefront, you will set the standard for data-driven decision-making within the marketing department. This involves moving beyond standard marketing metrics to build sophisticated models that inform resource allocation, critically interrogating assumptions, stress-testing forecasts, and identifying nuanced insights from data to optimize performance.
- • Championing a test-driven approach is paramount. We expect the marketing function to be a hotbed of experimentation, constantly seeking out and validating new growth opportunities through agile testing methodologies. This iterative process will be key to staying ahead in a dynamic market.
- • Embracing and integrating AI into our workflows is a strategic imperative. As an AI-pilled leader, you will foster a culture of AI experimentation within the marketing team, exploring how these technologies can enhance efficiency, creativity, and effectiveness across all marketing initiatives.
- • This role demands a blend of big-picture strategic thinking and meticulous attention to execution details. 🎯 Requirements
- • 10+ years of progressive marketing experience, with a significant emphasis on demand generation or growth marketing, including proven success leading fast-paced, high-performing Growth or Demand Gen teams.
- • Experience within a growth-stage startup environment (ideally with $50M+ in revenue and 150-500 employees), demonstrating an understanding of scaling marketing operations while retaining a hands-on approach.
- • Exceptional analytical and modeling skills, with the ability to build models that drive resource allocation, interrogate assumptions, stress-test forecasts, and derive actionable insights from complex data sets.
- • A strong founder mentality and a first-principles approach to business strategy, demonstrating ownership and the ability to contribute to broader company direction beyond marketing.
- • Broad business acumen and excellent written communication skills, essential for an async, documentation-first company culture.
