  • • As the Vice President, Marketing, you will be a pivotal senior leader within Cengage Learning's K-12 business, including the esteemed National Geographic Learning brand. This role is instrumental in shaping and executing an integrated go-to-market strategy that is deeply rooted in Product Marketing, Demand Generation, and Engagement Marketing. You will be the architect of our market approach, synthesizing critical market, customer, and performance insights to define a winning strategy. Your ability to partner cross-functionally will be key to delivering a cohesive and differentiated story that resonates across all our products, diverse audiences, and various channels, ultimately driving student success and empowering educators.
  • • In this dynamic role, you will spearhead product marketing initiatives across the entire K-12 portfolio, meticulously defining messaging, positioning, and go-to-market execution. This involves employing a rigorous research approach to uncover deep customer needs, articulate product value propositions, and establish competitive differentiation, translating these insights into clear, compelling narratives. You will collaborate closely with Product, Strategy, and Technology leaders, providing executive insights that directly influence roadmap development, packaging, pricing strategies, and critical launch priorities. Your oversight will ensure a consistent and differentiated storytelling approach across all sales, marketing, brand, and customer touchpoints, reinforcing our brand identity and value.
  • • You will take ownership of marketing's direct contribution to pipeline and revenue growth, leveraging established demand generation methodologies. This requires close partnership with Sales, GTM Operations, and Analytics teams to set, meticulously track, and achieve ambitious short- and long-term pipeline goals. A significant focus will be on leading high-impact account-based marketing (ABM) strategies, specifically targeting priority K-12 districts, states, and key adoption cycles. Your efforts will be directed towards optimizing win rates and proactively reducing objections through precisely targeted campaigns, sophisticated journey optimization, and robust sales enablement initiatives. Furthermore, you will cultivate a strong attribution discipline and develop comprehensive performance dashboards to ensure accountability and demonstrate tangible impact across all marketing programs.
  • • Your responsibilities extend to enhancing brand affinity and deepening customer engagement through a coordinated approach involving integrated campaigns, compelling content, impactful thought leadership, and powerful storytelling. You will collaborate with internal teams to amplify brand reach, increase relevance, and ensure consistency across all communications. Engaging with media, industry influencers, and strategic partners will be crucial to reinforcing the National Geographic Learning and Cengage K-12 narratives. You will lead the development of personalized, account-based, and life-cycle campaigns meticulously tailored to the specific needs of educators, administrators, and buyers. Ensuring that both in-person and virtual events, conferences, and briefings are strategically planned and effectively delivered will also be a key part of your role.
  • • You will oversee the creation of essential sales tools, content, and enablement assets, including presentations, proposals, case studies, and training materials, ensuring they are impactful and aligned with marketing strategies. This includes providing crucial marketing support for strategic partnerships, channel initiatives, and other cross-functional priorities. A critical aspect of your role will be strengthening the alignment between Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success teams to drive improvements in pipeline conversion and customer retention, fostering a unified approach to customer engagement and business growth.
  • • As a leader, you will build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing marketing leadership team responsible for demand generation, engagement, and product marketing. You will manage budgets and resources with exceptional rigor, continuously optimizing investments based on performance data and strategic objectives. Success will be measured using a combination of traditional and innovative metrics, encompassing pipeline generation, conversion rates, win rates, adoption metrics, customer retention, and overall brand health. You will serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, providing critical insights on market trends, evolving customer needs, and competitive dynamics, thereby shaping the strategic direction of the K-12 business.
