📋 Description

• As a Web Developer at SPAN.IO, Inc., you will play a critical role in advancing the company’s mission to electrify the built environment and combat climate change by building web applications that power SPAN’s energy management ecosystem.
• You will design, develop, and maintain high-performance web applications using React, contributing directly to homeowner dashboards, enterprise utility platforms, and internal tools that enable seamless interaction with SPAN’s smart electrical panels.
• Your day-to-day responsibilities will include building customer-facing features for homeowners, installers, and utility companies; creating internal tools for support, manufacturing, and business teams; collaborating with mobile, cloud, firmware, and QA engineers on full-stack projects; leveraging real-time data from SPAN panels to build interactive visualizations; integrating with external services via REST, gRPC, MQTT, or WebSockets; and practicing test-driven development using frameworks like Playwright and Cypress.
• You will work within SPAN’s Bengaluru-based software engineering team, collaborating closely with global teams in the US and beyond, contributing to a mission-driven culture focused on innovation, resilience, and clean energy adoption.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in modern frontend architecture, data visualization, and full-stack collaboration while gaining exposure to IoT-integrated systems and cleantech domain knowledge, positioning you at the intersection of software engineering and sustainable technology.

🎯 Requirements

• 2–6 years of experience in web software development with proven experience building production applications in React.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and willingness to work with or learn TypeScript.
• Experience with end-to-end and component testing frameworks such as Playwright and Cypress.
• Strong skills in representing data through charts, graphs, and interactive visualizations.
• Familiarity with client–service communication patterns including REST, gRPC, and real-time messaging (e.g., MQTT, Ably, WebSockets).
• Proficiency in Git, linting, code review, and CI/CD practices for collaborative development.
