📋 Description

• The Web Experience Specialist at Kong Inc. is a critical execution-focused role responsible for owning the day-to-day creation, quality, and continuous improvement of marketing web experiences on konghq.com, directly enabling faster experimentation and reducing engineering lift for marketing teams.
• This role bridges marketing, design, and web engineering to ensure high-quality, visually accurate, and functional web content while driving process improvements and enabling non-technical stakeholders to confidently manage content in the CMS.
• Kong Inc. is a leading developer of API and AI connectivity technologies, trusted by Fortune 500 companies and startups, building the infrastructure for the agentic era through its Kong Konnect platform that secures, manages, accelerates, governs, and monetizes intelligence flow across APIs and AI models.
• The Web Experience Specialist will build, publish, and maintain marketing content in Payload CMS, ensuring pages are visually accurate, functional, and aligned with design specifications while maintaining consistency across all marketing web properties.
• The role involves setting up and managing A/B tests in VWO (primarily via UI with light customization), implementing test variations using CSS and JavaScript, monitoring experiments, and collaborating on interpreting results to support data-driven optimization.
• The specialist will apply custom HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to resolve layout, styling, or interaction issues, make incremental high-quality improvements within the existing web codebase, and contribute reusable fixes or enhancements back to shared components when appropriate.
• Key enablement responsibilities include documenting workflows, standards, and best practices for CMS content and experimentation, training and supporting marketing stakeholders in building and maintaining their own content, identifying recurring inefficiencies, and proposing scalable improvements.
• Acting as a quality gatekeeper for marketing web output, the specialist will proactively identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve web quality, and ensure consistency and performance across all marketing touchpoints.
• Success in this role is measured by marketing’s ability to launch pages and experiments faster with reduced engineering involvement, documented and easy-to-follow CMS workflows for non-technical partners, improved web quality, performance, and consistency over time, and increased experiment velocity while maintaining strong execution standards.
• The role requires three days per week in the office in a hybrid setup, reflecting Kong’s commitment to collaboration and in-person teamwork while offering flexibility.

🎯 Requirements

• 4-6 years of experience building and managing web pages or digital experiences
• Experience working in a complex CMS, with Payload CMS strongly preferred
• Hands-on experience with experimentation platforms, with VWO preferred
• Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Comfortable working within established codebases and making careful, incremental changes
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate ambiguity
• Excellent communication skills with a collaborative mindset
