We stand as the last line of defense for millions of Americans against powerful insurance companies, large corporations, and defective products. Every member of our extensive team, from attorneys across all 50 states to our dedicated client support staff, creative marketing professionals, and operational experts, plays a crucial role in our unwavering fight for consumer rights. We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our thriving Workers' Compensation practice in Atlanta, Georgia.
- • In this vital role, you will be instrumental in supporting our legal team throughout the entire lifecycle of workers' compensation claims. Your responsibilities will span from the initial client intake to the final resolution of each case, ensuring injured workers receive the dedicated representation they deserve. This position demands exceptional organizational acumen, a meticulous eye for detail, and an unwavering commitment to providing outstanding client service. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, superior problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic legal environment.
- • Your core responsibilities will include conducting thorough client intake interviews, initiating new matters, and meticulously creating and maintaining both electronic and physical case files. A critical part of this involves verifying essential information such as employer details, carrier/TPA information, and adjuster contacts, laying a solid foundation for each case.
- • You will be the administrative backbone of case management, expertly handling the scheduling of crucial events like calendar hearings, mediations, and depositions, while diligently tracking all associated deadlines. Proficiency in managing case logistics and maintaining accurate contact information within our ICMS and Litify systems will be essential for seamless operations.
- • A significant aspect of your role will involve preparing, serving, and tracking various ICMS filings, including but not limited to 207 forms, COA, 108A, 108B, and 102C. You will also be responsible for maintaining comprehensive pleadings and discovery indexes, ensuring all documentation is organized and readily accessible.
- • The acquisition, payment, and tracking of medical records and bills will be a key duty. You will be tasked with building and maintaining detailed medical chronologies, work status notes, and comprehensive logs, providing critical insights for case strategy and attorney review.
- • You will closely monitor indemnity payments, authorizations, and wage documents, including calculating Average Weekly Wage (AWW) and Temporary Total Disability (TTD) rates. Tracking medical treatment details and promptly noting any late or missing payments, as well as preparing mileage requests, will be integral to ensuring client benefits are secured.
- • Providing proactive and comprehensive client communication is paramount. This includes notifying clients of appointments, providing regular status updates, sharing important informational materials, and coordinating medical treatment approvals. Promptly managing all client calls and emails with professionalism and empathy is expected.
- • You will be responsible for drafting and meticulously proofreading correspondence and legal documents, ensuring accuracy and clarity. Organizing exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices will be crucial for efficient case preparation and presentation.
- • The role involves collecting, examining, and organizing evidence and other legal documents for attorney review. You may also be required to conduct preliminary research on regulations, laws, and legal articles relevant to specific cases, contributing to the development of legal strategies.
- • Managing client billing will be another important function. This includes preparing, finalizing, and sending out bills, as well as collaborating with the billing attorney to resolve any billing-related inquiries or issues, ensuring accuracy and client satisfaction.
- • You will play a key role in communicating with clients and witnesses to schedule meetings, interviews, and depositions, ensuring all parties are informed and prepared.
- • A proactive approach to implementing and improving administrative processes for enhanced workflow efficiency is highly valued. You will manage and maintain documents within both paper and electronic filing systems, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
