📋 Description

• As the Workplace Operations Lead at Perplexity AI, Inc., you will be instrumental in shaping and elevating the daily experience of our global workforce across all office locations. • Your primary responsibility will be to develop and execute a comprehensive global workplace strategy. This strategy will be meticulously aligned with Perplexity AI's core values and overarching business objectives, ensuring that our physical environments are a direct reflection of our commitment to talent attraction, retention, and employee well-being. You will be tasked with defining and driving long-term goals for workplace experience, making certain that these are in lockstep with the organization's evolving priorities and growth trajectory.
• A significant aspect of your role will involve partnering with Event Managers to design and implement engaging in-office experiences. While we foster flexibility, your efforts will be crucial in curating environments that encourage spontaneous gatherings, collaborative sessions, and a strong sense of community. This extends to ensuring that non-local employees and visitors receive an equally warm and productive welcome, bridging the gap between remote and in-office interactions.
• You will champion a culture of inclusion, collaboration, and peak productivity across all our office spaces. This involves not just managing the physical infrastructure but also fostering an atmosphere where every employee feels valued, supported, and empowered to do their best work.
• Financial stewardship is a key component of this role. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and meticulously overseeing detailed budget proposals for all workplace initiatives. This includes managing budget ownership, ensuring the accurate allocation of spending, and proactively identifying opportunities for cost savings across facilities, services, and vendor contracts. Reviewing and approving invoices will be critical to maintaining compliance and transparency in all workplace expenditures.
• Building and nurturing robust relationships with internal partners and stakeholders is paramount. You will collaborate closely with teams across People Operations, IT, Security, and Finance to ensure seamless alignment on all workplace initiatives. This cross-functional collaboration is essential for the successful implementation of standardized workplace programs, policies, and practices, which you will help develop in conjunction with local office leads.
• Your operational oversight will encompass a wide range of critical workplace services. This includes, but is not limited to, managing food and snack provisioning to fuel our teams, ensuring site safety and implementing robust emergency response planning, overseeing cleaning services to maintain pristine environments, and managing front desk and guest services to provide a professional and welcoming first impression.
• Proactive planning and preventive maintenance will be central to your approach. You will ensure that all physical spaces are consistently maintained to the highest standards, minimizing disruptions and maximizing operational efficiency. This also involves partnering with internal teams to develop and maintain comprehensive workplace health and safety programs, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
• Furthermore, you will be responsible for overseeing emergency preparedness protocols. This includes developing clear plans, ensuring all employees are adequately trained, and equipping them with the knowledge and resources to respond effectively to any emergency situation, thereby safeguarding our most valuable asset: our people.

🎯 Requirements

• Must be located within commutable distance to our San Francisco office; this is a fully onsite role, with weekly travel to our Palo Alto office as needed.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Facilities Management, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in workplace operations, facilities management, and hospitality, with a strong understanding of office space management, food services, maintenance, and employee experience best practices.
• Proven experience working in high-growth, fast-paced environments, demonstrating exceptional project management skills with a track record of delivering initiatives on time and within budget.
• Knowledge of workplace safety, compliance protocols, and emergency preparedness, with experience managing and scaling workplace operations across multiple locations preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead innovative, cost-effective workplace enhancements while delivering exceptional employee experiences, coupled with strong vendor management expertise and stakeholder communication skills.
