📋 Description

• • Be the beating heart of AIG Japan’s reinsurance engine. As Manager, Reinsurance Operation you will sit at the crossroads of underwriting, claims, risk, finance and legal, translating complex treaty language into clear, accurate bookings and reports that regulators, senior executives and global reinsurers rely on every day.
• • Own the end-to-end life-cycle of internal and external reinsurance treaties—from initial structuring and placement through renewals, commutations and eventual run-off. You will negotiate wordings with global reinsurers, coordinate with NY Reinsurance Legal for compliance, and ensure every clause is correctly reflected in our systems.
• • Serve as the go-to expert for day-to-day reinsurance queries across Japan Controller teams, Product Underwriters (all lines), Claims, ERM, FP&A, Treasury, Tax and Actuarial. Your answers will directly influence pricing decisions, reserving accuracy and capital allocation.
• • Drive accurate and timely reinsurance accounting entries, premium bookings, loss recoveries and commission calculations. Partner with Accenture India and NY Internal Reinsurance to close monthly, quarterly and annual cycles under tight deadlines and SOX-level controls.
• • Proactively monitor ceded and assumed exposures, flagging concentration risks or treaty breaches to the Head of Reinsurance and Enterprise Risk Management. Your insights will shape strategic decisions on retentions, limits and retrocession.
• • Lead or support high-impact projects—system migrations, IFRS 17 reinsurance impacts, new product roll-outs and regulatory stress tests—translating technical requirements into user stories and test scripts that keep Japan at the forefront of global best practice.
• • Manage legacy run-off portfolios and commutations, quantifying liabilities, negotiating settlements and releasing trapped capital. These deals often free up millions of dollars and directly improve AIG Japan’s solvency ratios.
• • Coach junior analysts and offshore teams, building a culture of technical excellence, continuous improvement and cross-border collaboration. Your leadership will cultivate the next generation of global reinsurance talent.
• • Represent AIG Japan in external forums—broker roundtables, reinsurer audits and industry working groups—strengthening relationships that secure capacity and pricing advantages in an increasingly competitive market.
• • Champion a culture of inclusion and respect, leveraging AIG’s global Employee Resource Groups to ensure every voice is heard and every perspective valued.
