- • Lead the Language Clients team at ClickHouse, shaping how developers interact with the world’s fastest-growing OLAP database through Go, Python, Rust, Java, and other client libraries.
- • Recruit, coach, and develop a high-bar engineering team; foster a culture of ownership, speed, psychological safety, and continuous improvement while mentoring engineers at all levels.
- • Define technical direction and product strategy for language clients, making opinionated architectural decisions, establishing UX and developer experience benchmarks, and owning the roadmap to make ClickHouse client libraries best-in-class.
- • Expand into the broader open source ecosystem by leading integrations, SDKs, partner tooling, and community-built extensions; represent ClickHouse externally at conferences, forums, and with partners.
- • Collaborate with product, developer relations, and sales engineering teams while protecting team capacity and scope when needed.
- • Operate with high ownership and autonomy in a remote-first, globally distributed company that values speed, innovation, and impact without over-process.
- • Join a fast-scaling startup on the Forbes Cloud 100 list, backed by a $400M Series D, serving customers like Capital One, Meta, Tesla, and Sony, and help shape the future of real-time analytics and AI workloads.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years of experience managing software engineers with a proven track record in hiring, developing, and retaining strong technical talent.
- • 10+ years of industry experience building developer-facing tools, open source software, or data-intensive systems, with hands-on involvement in technical design and code review.
- • Demonstrated ability to grow engineers into senior contributors and future technical leads, particularly in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
- • Experience collaborating with open source communities and earning trust in public technical spaces through talks, blog posts, or community engagement.
- • Strong product ownership mindset: capable of setting direction based on developer feedback and shipping fast with tight feedback loops.
- • Startup experience preferred; comfort driving execution without over-process in high-growth, lean environments.
