📋 Description

• Design and build production-grade systems that are reliable, scalable, and observable, owning them end-to-end from problem identification to deployment and operations.
• Work across application services, distributed systems, infrastructure, data pipelines, and ML systems to deliver complete solutions, not just components.
• Debug complex production issues across multiple layers, applying first-principles thinking and deep technical judgment to resolve systemic failures.
• Make engineering trade-offs grounded in first principles, prioritizing simplicity, reliability, performance, and cost efficiency over unnecessary complexity.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical direction, ensuring systems are maintainable, observable, and aligned with long-term business goals.
• Write clean, maintainable code and comprehensive documentation to support team scalability and knowledge sharing.
• Frame problems correctly by determining when to use machine learning versus deterministic systems, and avoid defaulting to ML as a solution.
• Work end-to-end with data: from ingestion and transformation to model training, evaluation, iteration, and deployment of ML models.
• Build reproducible ML pipelines and monitor model performance, drift, and operational cost in production.
• Debug failures that span both software systems and machine learning models, ensuring robustness across hybrid architectures.
• Improve system performance, latency, reliability, and cost efficiency through targeted optimizations and infrastructure improvements.
• Raise the engineering bar by promoting robust design thinking, clear communication, and a culture of ownership and technical excellence.
• Operate across multiple programming languages including Go, Java, Python, Rust, and SQL to implement and maintain systems effectively.
• Utilize Linux, containers, and Kubernetes in day-to-day infrastructure management and deployment workflows.
• Apply strong understanding of distributed systems, networking, operating systems, and data structures and algorithms to solve real-world engineering challenges.
• Reason using invariants and failure modes to anticipate and prevent system breakdowns under load or unexpected conditions.
• Engage with streaming systems, data systems, and ML infrastructure to enhance platform capabilities and operational resilience.

🎯 Requirements

• Strong CS fundamentals (DSA, OS, networking, distributed systems)
• Solid probability and statistics knowledge
• Experience building production systems at scale
• Ability to move across languages (Go, Java, Python, Rust, SQL)
• Understanding of system behavior under load and failure
• Comfort with Linux, containers, Kubernetes
