- • Join Sezzle’s pioneering AI squad in Colombia and help us re-imagine how 3.4 M active shoppers and 40 k merchants interact with money, products, and each other. Over 12 intensive weeks you will own end-to-end micro-services that turn billions of real-time data points into smarter credit decisions, hyper-personalized storefronts, and fraud-proof checkout flows.
- • Ship production-grade Python micro-services that expose REST & GraphQL endpoints for our AWS/Kubernetes ecosystem; every pull-request you merge reaches 100 % of users within minutes thanks to automated CI/CD and canary roll-outs.
- • Experiment with the latest LLM and computer-vision models (OpenAI, Claude, Stable Diffusion) to auto-generate marketing copy, product imagery, and support answers that lift merchant conversion by double digits.
- • Build real-time feature stores in Snowflake & DynamoDB that feed sub-100 ms risk models; your pipelines will decide whether a first-time buyer in Bogotá gets approved for a $ 200 order—balancing revenue growth with default risk.
- • Design A/B tests in collaboration with product managers and UX researchers; read results in Amplitude and present actionable insights to the executive team every Friday. Past interns increased installment uptake 8 % and cut late repayments 5 %.
- • Create interactive Streamlit dashboards that let risk analysts explore model explanations (SHAP, LIME) and comply with Colombian consumer-protection statutes.
- • Contribute to our growing MLOps stack: Airflow DAGs, Feast feature repo, MLflow registry, and Sagemaker multi-model endpoints. You will add data-drift monitors that page the team on Slack before merchants feel the pain.
- • Participate in daily virtual stand-ups, weekly “AI Guild” talks, and monthly hack-days. Last hack-day produced a voice-bot that now handles 20 % of Spanish-language support tickets.
- • Pair-program with senior engineers in Minneapolis, Berlin, and MedellĂn; receive code-review feedback within hours and level-up on clean architecture, test coverage, and secure-coding best practices.
- • Own at least one intern-demo-day project that showcases business impact; previous interns published their work at NeurIPS “Workshop on Causal Inference for FinTech” and landed return offers within days.
- • Champion ethical AI: audit training data for gender & racial bias, document model cards, and help satisfy Sezzle’s external fairness audits—because financial inclusion should never come at the cost of discrimination.
- • Work 100 % remote from anywhere in Colombia, choosing flexible hours that overlap 11 a.m.–3 p.m. ET for collaboration. We ship, then we recharge—no one brags about 80-hour weeks.
🎯 Requirements
- • Actively pursuing or recently completed (within 12 months) a bachelor’s or master’s in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field; graduation date after August 2025.
- • Demonstrated Python fluency (NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch or TensorFlow) via coursework, Kaggle rankings, GitHub repos, or prior internships.
- • Conversational English (B2+) plus professional Spanish; able to write technical specs in English and present findings bilingually to regional stakeholders.
- • Legal right to work in Colombia; Sezzle sponsors no-cost digital service-contract modality for students.
