  • • As an Account Director at Walter GmbH, you will be the pivotal leader responsible for the holistic management and strategic direction of key client accounts. This role demands a dynamic individual who can seamlessly blend client relationship expertise, financial acumen, and robust leadership to drive both client success and agency growth. You will serve as the primary point of contact, embodying the agency's commitment to excellence and acting as the ultimate internal client expert and business-level point of escalation. Your ability to build instant rapport, foster deep trust with key client contacts, and consistently persuade clients toward optimal strategic decisions will be paramount.
  • • A core facet of this role involves meticulous financial and Statement of Work (SOW) management. You will be instrumental in building, recommending, and negotiating SOWs and retainer models, ensuring they align with client objectives and agency profitability goals. Proactive management of SOWs, Master Service Agreements (MSAs), renewals, and negotiations will be a continuous responsibility, requiring a keen eye for detail and a strategic approach to contractual agreements. Ultimately, you will be accountable for achieving and exceeding defined profitability targets for your assigned accounts.
  • • Success in this position hinges on a comprehensive understanding of industry trends and their application to the client's specific business challenges and opportunities. You will be expected to proactively identify avenues for business growth within existing accounts, nurturing and expanding these relationships. Furthermore, you will collaborate closely with the New Business team, contributing your expertise to RFP responses and agency pitches, showcasing the agency's capabilities and securing new opportunities.
  • • Leadership and team management are critical components of the Account Director role. You will foster a collaborative and productive work environment, setting clear expectations for deliverables and scope while managing up with informed, proactive communications. This includes providing honest, constructive feedback to team members and peers, and anticipating the impact of internal decisions, such as resourcing, navigating these challenges adeptly. You will be empowered to take calculated risks to achieve ambitious goals, always maintaining a real-time perspective on client satisfaction and proactively preserving it. Working cooperatively and respectfully with cross-agency peers is essential to ensure a seamless, positive, and productive client experience.
  • • In terms of execution and problem-solving, you will be accountable for ensuring the delivery of the highest quality work within budget and scope constraints. This involves identifying potential red flags early on and recommending proactive, effective solutions. Cultivating excellent relationships with strategy, creative, production, and project management peers will be key to leading efforts and managing all critical business issues that arise. Your ability to maintain an excellent state of client relationship for the entire cross-functional team will be a defining characteristic of your success.
  • • Exceptional communication skills are non-negotiable. You will engage in direct communications tailored to all levels of client stakeholders, from junior contacts to C-suite executives. Confident presentation skills are essential for conveying strategic recommendations and project updates. You must possess the ability to resolve conflict in a calm, neutral, and constructive manner, and demonstrate a keen ability to understand unspoken needs and guide the team accordingly. Your industry background, ideally within advertising, an in-house agency, or a marketing agency, will provide a strong foundation for understanding the nuances of client challenges and opportunities.
