- • As an Account Director, Client Strategy at Directive Consulting, you will step into a pivotal role, taking ownership of a portfolio of our most valuable and complex client relationships. This position is designed for a seasoned professional who thrives at the nexus of strategic vision, commercial acumen, and operational excellence, serving as the ultimate guardian of client retention, expansion, and overall client experience for a high-value segment of our clientele.
- • You will be the primary point of accountability, acting as a trusted advisor to VP- and C-suite stakeholders within our client organizations. Your mission will be to deeply understand their business objectives and translate them into integrated marketing strategies that drive tangible growth. This involves orchestrating the efforts of our expert Paid Media, SEO & Content, CRO, Creative, and RevOps teams, ensuring their collective work is aligned towards achieving unified, measurable business outcomes.
- • Operating with a high degree of autonomy, commercial rigor, and executive presence, you will manage the entire lifecycle of client relationships. Your direct influence will be critical in shaping Directive’s Net Revenue Retention (NRR), a key indicator of our sustained success and client satisfaction. This role demands a proactive, strategic thinker who can not only identify opportunities but also execute flawlessly to capitalize on them.
- • **Own Strategic Client Relationships:** You will be the senior, day-to-day strategic lead for enterprise and high-growth clients. This includes cultivating and nurturing executive-level communication, fostering deep trust, and consistently demonstrating the long-term value Directive brings to their business. Your ability to build durable partnerships grounded in integrity and measurable impact will be paramount.
- • **Drive Retention & Expansion:** A core responsibility will be to develop and implement sophisticated renewal, upsell, and cross-sell strategies. These strategies must be directly tied to NRR performance, ensuring that as our clients grow and achieve success, their engagement with Directive deepens and expands, reflecting the increasing value we provide.
- • **Architect Cross-Channel Strategy:** You will be instrumental in designing comprehensive, integrated growth plans that span across Paid Media, SEO/Content, CRO, Creative, and RevOps. This requires a holistic understanding of how each channel contributes to the overall marketing ecosystem and the ability to ensure cohesive execution and transparent reporting that clearly articulates the combined impact.
- • **Commercial Ownership:** This role carries significant commercial responsibility. You will own the economic health of your client portfolio, including accurate forecasting, margin management, diligent scope control, and skillful negotiation of renewal terms. Your commercial acumen will be key to ensuring profitable and sustainable client partnerships.
- • **Lead QBRs & Executive Storytelling:** You will lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and other executive-level presentations. This involves translating complex performance data into clear, compelling business narratives that directly connect marketing execution to tangible revenue impact and strategic business objectives. Your ability to communicate complex information with confidence and clarity to senior stakeholders is essential.
- • **Cross-Functional Leadership:** You will collaborate closely with channel leads, Project Managers, and operations teams. Your role is to align priorities, proactively identify and mitigate risks, and ensure the consistent delivery of world-class service and results across all client engagements.
- • **Risk & Escalation Management:** A critical aspect of this role is the proactive identification of potential client risks. You will develop and implement strategies to mitigate these issues before they require escalation to executive leadership, ensuring a smooth and stable client experience.
- • **Team Leadership:** You will have the opportunity to mentor and guide strategists, analysts, and project teams. Your leadership will foster a culture of elevated strategic thinking, commercial accountability, and a shared commitment to client success, helping to develop the next generation of marketing leaders within Directive.
- • This role is ideal for someone who is client-obsessed, possesses a growth mindset, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment, embodying the Directive DNA of precision, ownership, and a bias toward action. You will be a key player in shaping the future of integrated marketing leadership at Directive, where creativity meets commercial discipline to deliver exceptional results.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7–12 years of experience in agency or client services roles, with significant exposure to B2B SaaS or technology clients.
- • Proven experience owning renewals, upsell, and cross-sell motions across a $2M+ portfolio.
- • Strong fluency across Paid Media, SEO/Content, CRO, Creative, and RevOps, with the ability to connect execution to business outcomes.
- • Experience partnering with VP-, CMO-, and CRO-level client stakeholders.
- • Executive Communication: Clear, confident communicator who can translate performance into business impact.
- • Commercial Acumen: Comfortable owning forecasts, margins, scope, and renewal economics.
🏖️ Benefits

- • Opportunity to work with a high-value portfolio of B2B SaaS and tech clients.
- • Collaborative and high-accountability culture.
- • Mentorship and professional development opportunities.
- • Competitive compensation and benefits package (details typically provided during the interview process).
