Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the end-to-end enterprise sales motion for Effective AI, including lead sourcing, discovery, demos, technical evaluations, contract negotiations, and closing complex deals with the largest insurance carriers.
- • Partner directly with founders to shape and scale the enterprise sales function, establishing processes and strategies for a high-stakes, technical buyer segment.
- • Sell to chief actuaries, heads of product, chief data officers, and P&L owners at top-tier insurance carriers, requiring deep understanding of actuarial workflows, ratemaking, reserving, and regulatory constraints.
- • Build and manage pipeline through outbound efforts, industry conferences, events, content campaigns, and thought leadership targeted at actuarial and pricing leadership.
- • Drive customer expansion by increasing adoption of the platform across adjacent teams and use cases within existing accounts, turning initial pilots into production-scale deployments.
- • Collaborate with the insurance research team to scope and execute proof-of-concept (POC) evaluations, ensuring technical demos deliver high-signal insights that align with buyer needs.
- • Translate direct customer feedback and market insights into actionable product roadmap inputs, influencing pricing, packaging, and go-to-market strategy.
- • Navigate multi-stakeholder sales cycles involving technical, financial, legal, and compliance teams, requiring consensus-building and credibility earned through domain expertise—not pitch decks.
- • Operate in a fast-evolving sales environment where processes are still being defined, with direct influence on how the sales team scales and how enterprise deals are structured.
- • Maintain deep intellectual curiosity about AI in regulated industries, specifically how agentic reasoning and multi-step coordination solve high-stakes, data-heavy actuarial problems.
- • Embody a builder mentality: energized by shaping a new sales motion from the ground up, not just executing a predefined playbook.
- • Work hybrid onsite in San Francisco, engaging daily with founders, engineers, and domain experts who also use the same AI agents customers rely on.
- • Represent Effective AI as a trusted advisor to technical, skeptical buyers by demonstrating authentic understanding of their workflows, challenges, and regulatory environment.
- • Contribute to company culture by participating in team-building events, happy hours, and daily in-office lunches as part of the hybrid team.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years in sales, business development, or growth roles at high-growth startups with experience closing enterprise or mid-market deals
- • Proven ability to multi-thread complex sales cycles, manage long timelines, and drive consensus across diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders
- • Strong commercial instincts with experience structuring deals, negotiating enterprise procurement terms, and managing procurement cycles
- • Experience selling to technical buyers in AI, data, fintech, or vertical SaaS markets
- • Builder mentality—comfortable shaping processes in ambiguous, early-stage environments where input directly influences company direction
- • Deep intellectual curiosity about AI and willingness to learn actuarial workflows (ratemaking, reserving, competitive analysis) to earn buyer trust
🏖️ Benefits
- • Highly competitive salary & meaningful equity
- • Best-in-class medical, dental & vision insurance
- • Flexible PTO
- • 401k with company match
- • Annual learning and development stipend
- • Daily lunch for in-office team members
- • Team building events & happy hours
