  • • Own the full renewal lifecycle for a portfolio of high-value merchant accounts, acting as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor from 90 days before contract expiration through successful signature and onboarding of the renewed facility.
  • • Analyze each merchant’s payment history, industry trends, and future capital needs to craft data-driven renewal proposals that balance competitive pricing with Kapitus’ risk appetite and revenue targets.
  • • Conduct consultative discovery calls and virtual business reviews with owners, CFOs, and controllers to uncover expansion opportunities—such as equipment financing, working-capital lines, or SBA 7(a) loans—then quarterback cross-functional deal teams to close multi-product packages.
  • • Proactively surface at-risk accounts by monitoring daily delinquency reports, macro-economic indicators, and merchant sentiment; design and execute retention plays that include restructuring, temporary hardship programs, or value-added services to reduce churn to <5% annually.
  • • Maintain meticulous CRM hygiene in Salesforce, logging every interaction, pricing exception, and competitive threat so that leadership dashboards reflect real-time pipeline health and forecast accuracy within 5%.
  • • Partner with Underwriting, Risk, and Legal to fast-track renewal approvals—pre-populating deal jackets, flagging policy exceptions early, and negotiating win-win amendments that shorten average cycle time from 21 to 14 days.
  • • Serve as the voice of the customer in quarterly product roadmap sessions, translating merchant feedback into feature requests that improve NPS by double digits year-over-year.
  • • Mentor junior Renewal Reps by sharing objection-handling techniques, pricing strategies, and industry-specific talk tracks during weekly role-plays and call reviews.
  • • Hit or exceed monthly targets of $3–5 million in renewed principal and 110% net revenue retention while maintaining a renewal rate above 85%.
  • • Leverage Tableau and Excel to build cohort analyses that identify which merchant segments, vintages, or geographies yield the highest renewal propensity, then refine outreach cadences accordingly.
  • • Collaborate with Marketing to co-author case studies, webinars, and email nurture campaigns that educate merchants on the ROI of repeat financing and position Kapitus as a strategic growth partner.
  • • Stay ahead of fintech and alternative-lending trends—such as embedded finance, revenue-based financing, and AI-driven underwriting—so you can articulate Kapitus’ competitive edge and preempt merchant objections.
  • • Champion a culture of compliance by ensuring every renewal adheres to state lending regulations, UCC filing requirements, and internal KYC/AML policies, passing all audits with zero findings.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 3+ years of quota-carrying renewals, account management, or inside sales experience in financial services, SaaS, or payments.
  • • Proven track record of exceeding $2M+ annual renewal or upsell quotas with net revenue retention ≥105%.
  • • Salesforce power user; comfortable building custom reports, dashboards, and forecasting views.
  • • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent experience in small-business lending or fintech considered.
