  • • Zoetis Inc. is seeking a highly capable and results-oriented Account Manager to join our US Petcare Division. This field-based role is crucial for executing our sales strategies and maximizing performance within an assigned geography. As an Account Manager, you will be instrumental in driving demand generation, launching new products, and fostering strong relationships with veterinary practices to achieve and exceed sales objectives.
  • • The core of your responsibility will be to meet overall sales targets, including specific goals for key growth products. This involves proactively identifying opportunities, developing innovative solutions, and implementing effective sales strategies to drive revenue. You will be expected to successfully launch new products and service offerings, ensuring they gain traction in the market, and to generate new equipment leads that contribute to the company's growth.
  • • A significant aspect of this role is the consistent demonstration of Solution Selling capabilities. This means understanding customer needs deeply and positioning Zoetis's offerings as valuable solutions rather than just products. You will need to build and maintain relevant technical knowledge, possess strong verbal fluency, and develop expertise in veterinary practice operations to effectively communicate the value proposition to clients.
  • • Building and nurturing effective relationships with targeted hospitals and their personnel is paramount. Your success will depend on your ability to maintain and grow relevance and access within each account, ensuring that Zoetis remains a trusted partner. You will interact with customers in strict adherence to all Zoetis promotional guidelines, maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and compliance.
  • • Effective Territory Management and Teamwork are essential for success in this role. You will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive Territory Business Plan, including strategic resource allocation, in line with company expectations. This involves maximizing the return on investment for all Zoetis resources deployed within your territory.
  • • Meeting field activity expectations is critical, encompassing consistent sales call activity and active participation in medical education programs. You will develop and execute a structured call-cycle at both the account and veterinarian level to ensure Zoetis meets its reach and frequency objectives.
  • • Collaboration and teamwork with all Zoetis Petcare colleagues are expected. You will conduct yourself professionally, consistently meeting expectations around integrity, compliance, work ethic, role clarity, conduct, attire, effective communication, administrative responsibilities, and overall teamwork. A proactive and collaborative approach will be key to achieving shared goals.
  • • The ideal candidate will possess an undergraduate degree (BS/BA) and a proven track record of success in previous roles, demonstrating creativity in finding opportunities and solving problems to drive sales performance. A minimum of 3-10 years of documented, successful consultative sales experience is required.
  • • You should exemplify the qualities of a change agent, a continuous learner, and someone who pushes themselves and others beyond conventional thinking. Utilizing analytics and insights to enhance decision-making and tactical execution will be a key differentiator. A strong sense of follow-through and meticulous attention to detail are non-negotiable.
  • • The ability to manage assigned expense budgets effectively is also a requirement. You must be highly focused and results-oriented, capable of identifying goals and priorities, and resolving issues at their earliest stages. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a close team environment, acting as a self-starter, is essential.
  • • Prior Animal Health experience and a solid understanding of small animal veterinary medicine are highly desirable. You must exhibit a willingness to accept and incorporate feedback, demonstrating a commitment to personal and professional growth.
  • • Technical skills include excellent verbal, written, presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills. You must possess the ability to exercise good judgment and make thoughtful, fair decisions based on relevant information. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and the ability to quickly learn Zoetis's internal systems are also required.
  • • This is a field-based position requiring the ability and willingness to travel within the assigned territory and work some evenings as needed for educational programs and client engagement. The candidate should reside within the territory.
