  • Join Deel, the fastest-growing SaaS company in history, as an Accountant I in Japan and play a pivotal role in our mission to unlock global opportunity for every person, team, and business. At Deel, we are not just building software; we are creating the essential infrastructure for the future of work, enabling a more diverse, inclusive, and compliant global economy. As a globally distributed company with a team spanning over 100 countries, we thrive on a dynamic culture that fosters continuous learning and innovation. This is your opportunity to accelerate your career at the forefront of the global work revolution, tackling complex challenges that impact millions of people's working lives.
  • In this crucial role, you will be an integral part of our accounting department, responsible for the meticulous handling of day-to-day financial transactions. Your contributions will be vital in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, supporting our robust month-end closing processes, and upholding strict compliance standards. You will work in close collaboration with the broader finance team, contributing directly to the accuracy of our financial reporting and the overall financial health of the company. This position offers a unique chance to gain hands-on experience in a rapidly scaling, innovative, and globally recognized organization.
  • Your core responsibilities will encompass a wide range of essential accounting functions. You will actively assist with both accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring that all transactions are recorded accurately and efficiently. This includes processing invoices, managing payments, and reconciling vendor and customer accounts. A significant part of your role will involve the preparation and processing of journal entries, where your attention to detail will be paramount in ensuring completeness and accuracy, forming the bedrock of our financial data.
  • Furthermore, you will be a key player in our month-end close activities. This involves performing detailed account reconciliations to identify and resolve any discrepancies, ensuring that all financial data is accurate and up-to-date. You will also contribute to the preparation of crucial financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, providing essential insights into the company's financial performance. Your diligence in processing and verifying expenses will ensure adherence to company policies and procedures, maintaining financial discipline.
  • Maintaining accurate records of our fixed assets and depreciation schedules will be another important facet of your role, contributing to the long-term financial planning and asset management. You will also provide essential support for tax filings, ensuring timely compliance with local Japanese tax regulations, including VAT and other statutory requirements. This proactive approach to compliance is critical for Deel's operations.
  • To support our commitment to transparency and accountability, you will assist with internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports, ensuring a smooth and efficient audit process. A forward-thinking aspect of this role involves actively helping to improve and automate accounting processes and workflows. Your insights and suggestions can lead to greater efficiency and accuracy within the department. Finally, you will collaborate effectively with various cross-functional teams to promptly resolve any accounting-related issues or discrepancies, fostering a collaborative and problem-solving environment. This role is designed for someone eager to learn, grow, and make a tangible impact within a leading global fintech company.
  • This is more than just an accounting job; it's an opportunity to be part of a company that is fundamentally changing how the world works. You'll be immersed in a fast-paced, innovative environment where your contributions are valued and your professional development is prioritized. If you are a detail-oriented, proactive, and ambitious accounting professional looking to make a significant impact, we encourage you to apply and become a part of Deel's incredible success story.
