- • Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals including a Manager and multiple Senior Accountants with an empathy-first leadership philosophy focused on team wellbeing and professional growth
- • Own a defined portfolio of corporate accounting operations in partnership with a co-Director of Accounting, with clear accountability over distinct areas of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycle
- • Manage accounting responsibilities across approximately 12 subsidiaries, including intercompany eliminations, multi-currency translations, and consistent close processes and account reconciliations across all entities
- • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability in accounting processes, operating with a bias toward action in ambiguous, high-growth environments
- • Implement AI-driven automation across the accounting function using Claude (including Claude Cowork and Claude Code), including skill building, artifact creation, and agent deployment
- • Ensure the integrity of the general ledger across owned entities by partnering with accounting and IT teams on NetSuite system configurations, chart of accounts maintenance, and master data governance
- • Design and implement robust internal controls over financial reporting (SOX compliance), proactively identifying gaps and driving timely corrective actions
- • Take ownership of complex accounting areas including revenue recognition (ASC 606), leases (ASC 842), stock-based compensation, consolidations, foreign currency translations, and business combinations
- • Lead the consolidation process across all domestic and international subsidiaries, ensuring accurate intercompany eliminations and minority interest calculations
- • Develop and maintain comprehensive, well-documented accounting policies and procedures that are consistently applied as the business evolves rapidly
- • Serve as a key liaison with external auditors, managing the audit relationship with transparency, accountability, and timely response to inquiries
- • Operate as an independent, decisive leader who sets direction for the team and executes without constant oversight while keeping senior stakeholders informed and aligned
- • Lead through ambiguity by providing calm, structured frameworks for prioritization when the path forward is unclear
- • Foster a culture of psychological safety, continuous development, and professional growth where team members feel seen, heard, and supported
- • Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Legal, Internal Audit, and IT teams to align accounting processes with DailyPay’s strategic objectives
- • Communicate complex financial information and analysis clearly and compellingly to senior leadership and non-finance stakeholders
- • Maintain strict adherence to US GAAP, SEC reporting standards, and internal control frameworks in all accounting activities
- • Utilize NetSuite as the primary accounting system and Ramp for expense management, ensuring accurate data entry, reconciliation, and reporting
- • Leverage experience with Claude Cowork and/or Code to automate repetitive accounting tasks and enhance team productivity
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA highly preferred
- • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with exposure to both pre-IPO high-growth and public company environments
- • Experience managing accounting across 10+ legal entities including intercompany transactions, eliminations, and multi-currency consolidations
- • Proven track record of driving results in ambiguous, rapidly evolving environments where processes are still being defined
- • Strong command of US GAAP, SEC reporting, and SOX compliance
- • Experience with NetSuite and Ramp highly preferred
