- • As an Accounting Manager at Render Services, Inc., you will be instrumental in building and scaling a robust accounting foundation to support our rapid growth as a leading B2B SaaS, consumption-based business. Reporting directly to the Controller, this pivotal role demands a proactive and detail-oriented individual who will own core accounting operations, drive significant process improvements, and contribute to strengthening our overall accounting function.
- • You will be a key player in collaborating cross-functionally across the organization, taking genuine ownership of critical accounting processes. Your mandate will include spearheading initiatives aimed at shortening financial close timelines, increasing the level of automation within our systems, and significantly strengthening our internal control environment to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
- • The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in public accounting and a CPA designation or is actively pursuing one. We are seeking someone who is highly organized, resourceful, possesses a deep curiosity, and demonstrates an eagerness to learn and adapt in a dynamic startup environment. A passion for leveraging modern accounting tools and technologies to make financial processes faster, smarter, and more efficient is essential for success in this role.
- • This position offers a unique opportunity to not only refine existing processes but also to build new ones from the ground up. You will lead meaningful projects that have a direct and tangible impact on a high-growth technology company, contributing to its financial integrity and operational scalability.
- • Key responsibilities include owning and meticulously supporting the monthly financial close process. This encompasses performing comprehensive general ledger reconciliations, conducting thorough variance analysis to understand financial performance drivers, and preparing accurate and insightful management reporting packages for executive review.
- • You will be responsible for developing and maintaining up-to-date accounting policies, detailed process documentation, and technical accounting memos. These deliverables are crucial for supporting robust internal controls, ensuring audit readiness, and establishing a scalable accounting function that can adapt to future business needs.
- • A significant aspect of this role involves establishing and owning the company’s stock-based compensation accounting process. This will require close coordination with external partners, diligent tracking of equity activity, accurate preparation of journal entries, and ensuring precise expense recognition in accordance with ASC 718, with essential support and guidance from the Controller.
- • Proactively identifying process gaps and inefficiencies will be a core function. You will lead improvement initiatives focused on enhancing automation, strengthening internal controls, and strategically positioning the accounting function to scale effectively alongside the business's rapid expansion.
- • You will serve as a key partner to the Controller, assisting with critical audit preparations, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, and supporting tax filings by taking ownership of assigned workstreams and deliverables.
- • Leading system enhancements and process improvements is a vital part of this role. This includes contributing to system implementations, redesigning workflows for optimal efficiency, and driving automation initiatives across various accounting functions.
- • You will foster strong partnerships with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Operations, and other key stakeholders, to streamline critical processes such as payroll, procure-to-pay (P2P), equity management, and expense management.
- • Embracing ownership of special projects and adapting to evolving responsibilities within a fast-growing startup environment is expected. You will bring structure, clarity, and diligent follow-through to tasks that may initially be ambiguous.
- • You will own the accurate and timely reconciliation of various balance sheet accounts, including payroll, bank accounts, accounts payable, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, equity, leases, and other general ledger accounts.
- • Taking full ownership of the end-to-end Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process is a key responsibility. This involves not only hands-on execution but also strategic ownership of vendor relationships, meticulous review of contracts and payment terms, and driving workflow improvements. You will be responsible for maintaining and continuously strengthening internal controls within the P2P cycle, proactively identifying potential risks, and driving their remediation.
- • You will own all accounting operations related to payroll, including but not limited to the accurate processing and reconciliation of deductions, benefits, 401K contributions, flexible spending plans, and all related reconciliations.
- • Ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of quarterly and annual payroll tax filings will be your responsibility, in close coordination with our external payroll provider.
- • You will own the accounting for leases under ASC 842, encompassing the preparation of journal entries, performing necessary reconciliations, and ensuring accurate disclosures in financial statements.
