  • • As an Accounts Receivable Specialist at WEX Inc., you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health of the company by meticulously managing incoming customer payments. This position is integral to our Accounts Receivable team, focusing on the accurate and timely application of payments, processing various transaction types, and resolving discrepancies to maintain seamless customer accounts and robust financial records.
  • • Your primary responsibility will be to verify and post routine and complex payments received from customers. This involves working with a diverse range of financial institutions and utilizing various posting systems to ensure every transaction is recorded correctly and efficiently.
  • • You will be tasked with processing and accurately recording all payment types, including but not limited to ACH transfers, wire transfers, and lockbox activity. This requires a keen eye for detail and a thorough understanding of different payment mechanisms.
  • • A significant part of your role will involve reconciling payment discrepancies. This necessitates close collaboration with internal departments such as Collections, Customer Service, and other relevant stakeholders. Your ability to investigate and resolve issues related to customer postings or misapplied payments promptly will be key to preventing customer disruption and maintaining financial integrity.
  • • You will also be responsible for processing adjustments, write-offs, and refunds. This requires careful analysis and adherence to company policies and procedures to ensure these financial actions are handled appropriately and with the necessary approvals.
  • • The role involves performing in-depth research on various accounting processes. This includes detailed reconciliation of discrepancies found in bank accounts against system data, ensuring that all financial information is accurate and aligned.
  • • You will actively support the Team Leader in developing, maintaining, and executing processes and procedures. This includes incorporating strong internal controls designed to mitigate financial risk while simultaneously emphasizing efficiency, timeliness, and the overall accuracy of all transactions.
  • • As you gain expertise, you may be involved in the periodic training of other Accounts Receivable Specialists. This training will focus on individual processes specific to their assigned platform or duties, contributing to the overall skill development of the team.
