- • The AI Deployment Engineer role at OpenAI’s Codex team is critical for helping customers adopt AI-powered coding tools across their software development lifecycle, acting as a trusted technical partner to accelerate how organizations plan, build, and deliver software.
- • Day to day, the engineer will serve as the primary technical expert on OpenAI Codex for a portfolio of customers, design and implement AI-enhanced development workflows, build demos and reference implementations using Codex, lead workshops and training sessions, contribute to the OpenAI Cookbook, gather product insights from deployments, and advise on solution architecture, security, and operational readiness.
- • The team works closely with Sales, Solutions Engineering, Product, Applied Engineering, and the broader Codex organization to advocate for customer needs, shape product direction, and enable successful deployment of intelligent coding systems across digital-native companies and global enterprises.
- • In this role, the engineer will deepen expertise in AI-driven software development, influence product strategy through real-world customer feedback, scale impact by enabling engineering teams at influential companies, and grow as a technical leader in ambiguous, fast-evolving AI spaces while advancing OpenAI’s mission to deploy AI safely and broadly.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of technical consulting, post-sales engineering, solutions architecture, or similar customer-facing technical experience
- • Active power user of AI coding tools with deeply customized developer workflows and a clear perspective on engineering productivity
- • Experience delivering large, high-impact workshops or technical training to engineering teams, with skills in designing engaging, hands-on, outcomes-driven sessions
