• This pivotal role of AI Developer Tooling Engineer is designed to spearhead the integration and strategic deployment of AI across Fanvue's entire engineering organization. It is a deeply hands-on position with the primary objective of transforming AI into a powerful force multiplier for every engineer, ensuring it enhances productivity and innovation without introducing uncontrolled risks. You will be instrumental in shaping our AI coding stack, architecting and building the essential infrastructure and tooling that underpins these advancements, and enabling our teams to accelerate their delivery cycles through sophisticated techniques such as parallelization, intelligent agents, and AI-assisted workflows. Crucially, this will be achieved while upholding the highest standards of code quality, security, and maintainability.
• Your core responsibilities will encompass aligning the Fanvue codebase with cutting-edge AI coding tools, including but not limited to Cursor and Claude Code. You will play a leading role in defining, standardizing, and rolling out Fanvue's comprehensive AI-assisted development stack, integrating it seamlessly into our Integrated Development Environments (IDEs), Pull Request (PR) workflows, and Continuous Integration (CI) pipelines. A significant part of your role will involve building and operating robust MCP (Machine Code Processing) servers and the necessary AI-ready infrastructure to ensure reliable, context-aware code generation capabilities.
• You will be tasked with enabling advanced parallelized development workflows, empowering engineers to confidently review and deploy AI-generated code. This includes establishing and evangelizing best practices for AI-assisted coding, code reviews, and refactoring techniques across all engineering teams. Furthermore, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation, playbooks, and training materials to foster widespread adoption and ensure the safe, effective usage of AI tools.
• A key performance indicator for this role will be tracking and reporting on measurable improvements in developer productivity. This includes metrics such as Pull Request cycle time, overall throughput, and enhancements in code quality. You will also be expected to continuously evaluate emerging AI developer tools and vendors, establishing clear success criteria for adoption and implementing robust kill switches for risk mitigation.

Hands-on expertise with AI coding tools such as Cursor and Claude Code is essential, complemented by exposure to or experience with other relevant tools like Aider, Cline, CodeRabbit, or GitHub Copilot. Experience in running MCP servers and associated tooling, such as Context 7, Puppeteer, or MCP Compass, is highly desirable. You should be comfortable creating, managing, and deploying agent skills within real-world codebases, showcasing a practical understanding of their application.
• A solid grasp of Large Language Model (LLM) fundamentals is crucial, including an understanding of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, embeddings, tokenization, fine-tuning, and the inherent performance trade-offs involved. Proficiency in working with GitHub workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and secure coding practices is expected. The role demands a highly autonomous individual who thrives on experimentation, is comfortable owning ambiguous problems from inception to completion, and can demonstrate tangible, measurable impact from applying AI to engineering workflows.

• Strong software engineering background with significant experience using TypeScript in production environments.
