📋 Description

• Shape the future of AI-powered productivity: As an AI/ML Engineer at Air Apps you will architect and deploy the intelligent engines behind our upcoming Personal & Entrepreneurial Resource Planner (PRP). Your models will directly influence how 100 M+ users plan their day, manage finances, and grow their businesses—turning raw data into life-changing insights.
• End-to-end ownership of ML lifecycle: From exploratory data analysis on billions of mobile events to shipping quantized models that run smoothly on-device, you own every stage. You will design offline training pipelines, run A/B experiments in production, and continuously monitor drift and latency to keep our AI ahead of the curve.
• Research-to-product at lightning speed: We move from whiteboard to TestFlight in weeks, not quarters. You will scan the latest arXiv papers each morning and, by afternoon, prototype transformer-based NLP features or few-shot computer-vision classifiers that delight users before competitors even read the abstract.
• Cross-functional collaboration that counts: Sit shoulder-to-shoulder (virtually) with product managers, iOS/Android engineers, and UX designers to translate fuzzy user wishes into crisp ML specs. You will explain attention mechanisms to designers as easily as you debate batch-norm vs. layer-norm with backend engineers.
• Optimize for mobile constraints: Our users demand 60 fps experiences on three-year-old devices. You will prune, quantize, and distill models; leverage Core ML, TensorFlow Lite, and Metal Performance Shaders; and craft custom operators so that even the heaviest BERT variant feels lightweight in your hands.
• Data-driven culture evangelist: Build self-service dashboards that let every team member ask “why did retention jump 3 % yesterday?” You will mentor junior analysts, establish feature stores, and champion reproducible notebooks so the entire company speaks the language of data.
• Privacy-first innovation: Work within GDPR, CCPA, and Apple’s ATT framework to deliver personalized experiences without compromising trust. You will implement on-device federated learning and differential privacy techniques that set new industry standards.
• Continuous learning & thought leadership: Present at Air Conference, publish internal tech talks, and represent Air Apps at global ML meetups. We will sponsor your papers, patents, and conference trips because when you grow, our products grow.

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years shipping ML models to production, ideally in mobile or consumer-facing environments
• Expert-level Python and deep fluency in TensorFlow or PyTorch; bonus points for Swift for TensorFlow or Core ML tooling
• Proven track record with at least two of: NLP, computer vision, recommender systems, or time-series forecasting
• Hands-on experience with cloud ML stacks (AWS SageMaker, GCP Vertex AI, or Azure ML) and containerized micro-services
• Solid grasp of data engineering: feature stores, Airflow/Prefect pipelines, and real-time streaming with Kafka/Kinesis
• Comfortable reading research papers and translating state-of-the-art techniques into scalable product features
