- • Own the end-to-end design, implementation, and scaling of machine-learning services that power real-time personalization, predictive analytics, and intelligent form completion across our remote-first, globally distributed engineering organization.
- • Partner with Product, Design, Data Science, and Go-to-Market teams to translate ambitious product roadmaps into robust, secure, and cost-efficient AI systems that delight users and drive measurable business impact.
- • Establish and evangelize best practices for MLOps, model governance, and responsible AI—defining coding standards, testing frameworks, and deployment pipelines that ensure 99.9% uptime and sub-second latency at Typeform scale.
- • Mentor senior and staff-level engineers through architecture reviews, pair programming, and technical workshops, cultivating a culture of continuous learning and psychological safety across 15+ autonomous squads.
- • Drive cross-functional initiatives to modernize our data infrastructure, migrating legacy batch processes to event-driven, real-time architectures on AWS and GCP while reducing annual cloud spend by double-digit percentages.
- • Spearhead the evaluation and integration of cutting-edge foundation models (LLMs, diffusion, multimodal) into Typeform’s product surface, balancing innovation with privacy, compliance, and ethical considerations.
- • Collaborate with Security and Legal teams to implement GDPR, SOC 2, and ISO 27001 controls for AI workloads, ensuring customer trust and regulatory adherence across 190+ countries.
- • Contribute to Typeform’s open-source footprint by publishing libraries, blog posts, and conference talks that showcase our technical excellence and attract top-tier talent to our remote community.
- • Champion experimentation and A/B testing at scale, leveraging statistical rigor to validate hypotheses and iterate rapidly—turning qualitative user feedback into quantifiable product improvements.
- • Build resilient, observable systems using Terraform, Kubernetes, and serverless patterns, automating incident response and reducing mean-time-to-recovery (MTTR) to under five minutes.
- • Influence executive leadership with data-driven narratives, presenting quarterly AI strategy updates that align engineering investments with revenue growth, customer retention, and market differentiation.
- • Foster inclusive collaboration across time zones (GMT-8 to GMT+3), using asynchronous communication, documented decisions, and lightweight rituals to maintain velocity without meeting overload.
- • Stay ahead of industry trends—evaluating emerging tools, research papers, and regulatory shifts—to future-proof Typeform’s AI capabilities and maintain our competitive edge in the experience-data space.
🎯 Requirements
- • 10+ years of software engineering with 5+ years architecting and productionizing large-scale AI/ML systems serving millions of users.
- • Expert-level proficiency in Python, TensorFlow/PyTorch, and cloud-native MLOps stacks (Kubeflow, Vertex AI, SageMaker).
- • Demonstrated experience designing event-driven, microservice architectures on AWS or GCP with strict latency, cost, and compliance constraints.
- • Nice-to-have: PhD or MS in Computer Science, AI, or related field; contributions to open-source ML projects; fluency in Spanish or Catalan.
