- • MSI is a leading Managing General Agent (MGA) renowned for its specialized insurance solutions, combining deep underwriting expertise with robust insurer and reinsurer risk capacity. We empower our distribution partners to effectively address the unique and evolving needs of their customers. Our passion lies in crafting innovative insurance products that cover significant risks for both individuals and businesses. Our expanding portfolio ranges from fully digital embedded renters coverage and high-value homeowners insurance to sophisticated commercial coverages like cyber liability and habitational property, all delivered through a diverse network of agents, brokers, wholesalers, and brand partners.
- • At MSI, we understand that our partners and customers rely on us for exceptional service characterized by rapid resolutions. We achieve this by simplifying the insurance experience through an advanced technology platform that streamlines every stage of the policy lifecycle. We are seeking a dedicated Analyst, Vendor Management to join our team and contribute to our mission of building insurance better.
- • The Analyst for Vendor Management plays a pivotal role in overseeing the entire lifecycle of vendor relationships. This responsibility spans from the initial onboarding of new vendors through to their eventual offboarding, ensuring strict alignment with organizational objectives, rigorous budgetary controls, effective risk mitigation strategies, and unwavering regulatory compliance. This position acts as the central point of contact for all vendor oversight activities, fostering cross-functional collaboration with key departments including Finance, Legal, IT, and various business units. The ultimate goal is to optimize vendor performance, enhance value, and safeguard the enterprise's interests.
- • Key responsibilities include designing, building, and leading end-to-end vendor processes. This encompasses the entire vendor journey: onboarding new partners, coordinating the meticulous execution of contracts, continuously monitoring vendor performance against agreed-upon metrics, and managing the offboarding process when necessary. A critical component of this role is maintaining a centralized and accurate vendor master file, requiring active coordination and information sharing across all relevant departments to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
- • In terms of budget and financial oversight, the Analyst will collaborate closely with the Chief Technology Officer and Finance department to diligently monitor vendor spending. This involves ensuring adherence to established budgets, actively supporting cost optimization initiatives, and identifying opportunities for greater financial efficiency. Where applicable, the role will also manage the capitalization of internal and external colleagues whose roles are designated for evaluation, building and executing these quarterly requirements to ensure accurate resource allocation and financial tracking.
- • Furthermore, the Analyst will develop and continuously enhance reporting capabilities for upper management. These reports will provide clear insights into budget deviations across various business units, enabling informed decision-making and proactive financial management. This proactive approach to financial stewardship is crucial for maintaining fiscal responsibility and supporting strategic growth.
- • As the primary tactical liaison for strategic vendors, the Analyst will be instrumental in fostering long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships. This involves cultivating strong working relationships, proactively addressing any potential issues, and skillfully resolving conflicts to ensure continued positive collaboration and optimal service delivery.
- • A significant aspect of the role involves managing risk and compliance. The Analyst will conduct thorough vendor risk assessments, categorizing vendors based on their criticality to business operations and their potential exposure to the enterprise. This ensures that resources are focused on the highest-risk relationships. The role also demands ensuring strict compliance with all internal policies and external regulations, such as those mandated by NYDFS. This includes coordinating due diligence efforts, managing the completion of third-party risk questionnaires, and overseeing the overall execution of the Third-Party Risk Management Program to maintain a secure and compliant vendor ecosystem.
- • Process improvement and governance are also key areas of focus. The Analyst will be responsible for developing and implementing robust vendor management policies, clear procedures, and effective governance frameworks. This ensures consistency, transparency, and accountability in all vendor-related activities. Additionally, the role will support internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation for regulatory reviews and internal control assessments, thereby demonstrating adherence to best practices and compliance standards.
