📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Android applications using Kotlin and Java for Coins.ph, the most established crypto brand in the Philippines with over 18 million users.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to translate user-centric requirements into scalable, secure, and intuitive mobile experiences.
• Implement clean, maintainable, and testable code following Android best practices, including MVVM architecture, dependency injection, and modularization.
• Integrate with RESTful APIs and third-party services to enable core functionalities such as cryptocurrency buying, selling, wallet management, and electronic money transactions.
• Optimize app performance, responsiveness, and battery efficiency across a wide range of Android devices and OS versions.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements set by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) for virtual currency and electronic money issuer licenses.
• Conduct code reviews, pair programming, and mentor junior engineers to uphold code quality and foster a collaborative engineering culture.
• Participate in agile sprints, daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives to deliver features on time with high reliability.
• Monitor app stability and user experience using crash reporting tools (e.g., Firebase Crashlytics) and performance analytics to rapidly identify and resolve issues.
• Stay current with Android ecosystem updates, new libraries, and industry trends to continuously improve the app’s architecture and user experience.
• Work closely with QA teams to define test cases, reproduce bugs, and ensure robustness of features before release.
• Contribute to the continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline to automate builds, testing, and deployment processes.
• Prioritize user privacy and data security in all development decisions, aligning with Coins.ph’s commitment to being a fully regulated financial technology platform.
• Engage with user feedback and support teams to understand real-world usage patterns and drive product improvements based on user needs.
• Maintain documentation for codebases, APIs, and technical workflows to ensure knowledge sharing and onboarding efficiency.

🎯 Requirements

• Proficient in Kotlin and Java for Android development
• Experience building and shipping production-grade Android apps with a strong focus on performance and stability
• Solid understanding of Android architecture components (ViewModel, LiveData, Room, Navigation)
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, JSON parsing, and network request handling (Retrofit, OkHttp)
• Experience with dependency injection frameworks (Dagger/Hilt)
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing (JUnit, Espresso)
