📋 Description

• Build and maintain production-grade Android applications using Kotlin for BJAK’s insurance and financial services platform.
• Design and implement intuitive, responsive mobile interfaces for insurance quoting, policy management, claims submission, and payment workflows.
• Integrate with backend RESTful APIs to enable core functionalities including quotations, transaction processing, and customer account management.
• Contribute to mobile features powered by AI-assisted capabilities such as chat interfaces, personalized recommendations, and automated user workflows.
• Optimize application performance, memory usage, battery efficiency, and responsiveness across a wide range of Android devices.
• Implement and maintain analytics, crash reporting, and user behavior tracking systems to drive product improvements and reduce incidents.
• Collaborate closely with backend engineers, product managers, designers, and AI/ML teams throughout the full development lifecycle.
• Ensure mobile systems meet high standards for stability, scalability, security, and maintainability in production environments.
• Apply Android Jetpack components including ViewModel and Compose (or XML-based UI where applicable) to build modern, maintainable UIs.
• Utilize Coroutines and Flow for asynchronous programming and efficient handling of background tasks and data streams.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and continuous improvement of engineering standards and mobile best practices.
• Ship and iterate on features with strong testing discipline, system design, and ownership from development through production deployment.
• Reduce production crashes and performance regressions through proactive debugging, monitoring, and performance tuning.
• Enable on-device AI/ML capabilities where applicable, including integration with frameworks like TensorFlow Lite.
• Maintain published apps on the Google Play Store with adherence to platform guidelines and user experience standards.
• Take full ownership of mobile features — from initial design and implementation to monitoring, iteration, and incident response.
• Work within a globally distributed engineering team across multiple time zones to deliver scalable mobile systems for millions of users.
• Contribute to a culture of technical excellence, speed of execution, and practical decision-making focused on real user impact.

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of Android development experience using Kotlin
• Strong understanding of Android architecture components and modern development practices
• Proven experience shipping production Android applications
• Strong knowledge of Coroutines, Flow, and asynchronous programming
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs and working with distributed systems
• Familiarity with mobile performance tuning and debugging in production environments
