Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Join Anduril’s rapidly expanding Tactical Command & Control (C2) team as an Android Software Engineer and own the mobile interface that puts life-saving intelligence directly into the hands of warfighters. You will architect, build, and harden the Android applications that run on ruggedized tablets and phones in the world’s most demanding environments—from desert forward-operating bases to maritime vessels pitching in heavy seas.
- • Your code will be the primary touchpoint between Lattice OS and the humans who rely on it for split-second decisions. You will translate complex sensor-fusion data, real-time 3D maps, and AI-generated threat assessments into intuitive, low-latency interactions that work even when networks are degraded or entirely offline.
- • Day-to-day, you will collaborate with cross-functional squads that include embedded systems engineers, autonomy researchers, UX designers, and former special-operations end-users. Together you will iterate at startup speed while meeting the rigorous safety, security, and reliability standards required for deployment on classified networks.
- • You will design offline-first data models that synchronize securely when connectivity returns, implement custom rendering pipelines for high-frame-rate 3D scenes, and craft touch gestures that work with gloved hands under direct sunlight. Every millisecond of performance and every pixel of clarity can determine mission success.
- • Expect to ship features to the field within weeks, not quarters. You will instrument your code for telemetry in contested RF environments, triage crash reports from forward-deployed devices, and push over-the-air updates that introduce new autonomy behaviors without interrupting ongoing operations.
- • Deep ownership is the norm: you will define product requirements alongside operators, choose the libraries and architecture patterns that best serve the mission, and mentor junior engineers as the team scales from tens to hundreds of contributors.
- • Security is not an afterthought. You will implement zero-trust authentication flows, perform static and dynamic vulnerability analysis, and ensure that every APK is signed, sealed, and delivered via secure supply-chain processes that satisfy DoD DevSecOps directives.
- • You will also contribute to the open-source foundations we depend on—whether upstreaming patches to AOSP, hardening Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile for cross-compilation, or releasing internal tools that help the broader defense-tech community build safer software faster.
- • The impact is tangible: your work will directly shorten sensor-to-shooter timelines, reduce collateral damage, and save American and allied lives. When a Marine squad calls in an autonomous drone swarm or a Navy destroyer redirects a missile battery based on Lattice intelligence, the Android interface you perfected will have made the decisive difference.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years shipping production Android applications in Kotlin and Java, with at least one app currently available on the Google Play Store or enterprise MDM catalog
- • Deep understanding of Android performance tuning—profiling with Android Studio, optimizing render loops, and reducing APK size for low-bandwidth deployments
- • Experience with secure coding practices: certificate pinning, encrypted shared preferences, and familiarity with STIGs or NIST 800-53 controls
- • Nice-to-have: prior work on DoD or IC systems, TS/SCI clearance, or experience with real-time mapping libraries such as Mapbox GL or Cesium
🏖️ Benefits
- • Fully remote-first culture with quarterly off-sites in destinations like Tahoe and Austin, including +1 airfare for significant others
- • Equity compensation that vests monthly and has no one-year cliff, plus a 10-year exercise window
- • $10,000 annual professional-development stipend for conferences, certifications, or graduate coursework
- • Platinum-tier health, dental, and vision insurance with 100% employer-paid premiums for employees and 80% for dependents
