- • The Applications Analyst II is a business specialist and technology generalist responsible for aligning technology solutions with business strategies by identifying opportunities to apply technology to improve business processes and advising customers on system functionality, costs, benefits, and implementation requirements.
- • Day to day, the role involves gathering and analyzing requirements for new or enhanced software applications, translating business needs into technical requirements, collaborating with stakeholders and IT teams, participating in testing (unit, integration, system, UAT), assisting in deployment, and providing post-deployment support and troubleshooting across multiple environments.
- • The role sits within the Research Information Systems department at BMC Software, Inc., serving as a technical liaison between business units, IT personnel, and vendors to ensure effective communication and successful technology adoption.
- • The person in this role will develop credibility with internal and external stakeholders, strengthen analytical and conceptual skills, gain experience in business process re-engineering and system integrations, and advance their ability to link IT solutions to redesigned business processes while building expertise in research administration systems.
🎯 Requirements
- • Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or Business Administration
- • At least 2+ years of relevant experience in business systems analysis across multiple hardware/software platforms or business unit experience working closely with IT on system development and implementation
- • Strong technical and business translation skills, including the ability to gather and analyze requirements, document systems, create user manuals and training materials, and communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences
