📋 Description
- • The Ascend Resident – In-House Immigration Leader is a paid, substantive leadership role within Alma Health’s peer community for immigration professionals, designed to elevate the practice of in-house immigration through thought leadership, community building, and practical resource creation. This is not a ceremonial title but a working residency where the selected individual drives meaningful impact by shaping conversations, surfacing critical issues, and delivering tangible value to immigration operators across industries.
- • Day to day, the Resident will: design and host one community-focused webinar on a pressing immigration topic (with Alma handling promotion and logistics); design and host one sponsored in-person event (fully funded and supported by Alma); recruit five or more high-quality Ascend members from their professional network; publish three to four original insights on policy, compliance, AI tools, vendor strategy, or program design; create one durable resource such as a framework, template, playbook, or briefing aligned with Alma’s mission; and actively spark and sustain peer conversations across the Ascend community through discussion facilitation and knowledge sharing.

- • Through this role, the Resident will deepen their influence as a trusted voice in the immigration community, refine their ability to translate complex policy and operational challenges into actionable guidance, expand their professional network with purpose-driven peers, and leave a lasting legacy through published work and community resources that continue to benefit the field long after the residency ends.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience as an in-house immigration program manager, director, or lead with direct ownership of immigration program strategy, compliance, vendor management, and stakeholder engagement
- • Demonstrated ability to create original, high-value content such as frameworks, playbooks, or policy briefings that address real-world challenges in corporate immigration
- • Strong network of global mobility and immigration professionals and the credibility to recruit peers into a professional community based on trust and shared expertise
