  • • Lyte, Inc. is at the forefront of developing advanced perception systems for Physical AI, designed to operate seamlessly within complex and dynamic environments. Our innovative approach integrates custom silicon, sophisticated sensors, and intelligent software into a unified platform, driving the next generation of robotics, mobility, and automation solutions. Headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, Lyte boasts a global presence and is committed to building impactful technology in a fast-paced, hands-on setting. If you are passionate about contributing to groundbreaking technological advancements, we encourage you to explore this exciting opportunity.
  • • We are seeking a motivated Assembly and Packaging Process Engineer, suitable for entry to mid-level candidates, to join our dedicated team. This role is crucial for supporting and enhancing our device packaging and assembly processes, ensuring the successful transition from New Product Introduction (NPI) to high-volume manufacturing. You will play a pivotal role in collaborating with our trusted partners in Asia, including Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) providers and Contract Manufacturers (CMs).
  • • Your primary responsibilities will involve working closely with our OSAT partners in Asia to drive continuous improvements in the company's device packaging processes. This includes overseeing and optimizing processes for both NPI and ongoing volume production, ensuring high quality and yield.
  • • Concurrently, you will collaborate with our Contract Manufacturers (CMs) in Asia to support the assembly and process improvement of our optical engines and critical subcomponents. This work is essential for the successful NPI and scaled manufacturing of these key product elements.
  • • A significant aspect of this role involves meticulous project tracking, with weekly updates and reporting to ensure all initiatives are on schedule and within scope. You will be responsible for preparing comprehensive technical reports, analyzing experimental data, and presenting findings to relevant stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making.
  • • You will be tasked with analyzing performance data from our OSATs, assembly houses, and contract manufacturers. This includes tracking key metrics such as Process Capability (Cp) and Process Capability Index (Cpk) for internal evaluation and continuous improvement efforts.
  • • This role requires active support for testing and reliability work across various levels of our product ecosystem. This includes component-level testing (e.g., III-V CoC), device-level validation, optical engine performance verification, and module system assembly testing.
  • • Maintaining and supporting the software and firmware necessary for testing equipment and related setups is also a key responsibility. This ensures the accuracy and efficiency of our testing procedures.
  • • You will contribute to the development and refinement of assembly processes, focusing on areas such as die attach, flip-chip, wire bonding, and mechanical assembly for modules, with a particular emphasis on camera and lidar module assembly.
  • • The role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving, identifying and addressing manufacturing challenges to improve yield, reduce costs, and enhance product reliability.
  • • You will be instrumental in the qualification and validation of new manufacturing processes and equipment, ensuring they meet Lyte's stringent quality standards.
  • • Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including design, test, and operations, will be essential to ensure seamless product development and manufacturing.
  • • This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies in the rapidly evolving field of Physical AI and robotics.
  • • You will be expected to adhere to strict quality control measures and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement within the manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • • The ability to work effectively in a remote setting, managing communication and collaboration across different time zones and with international partners, is paramount.
  • • You will contribute to the documentation of manufacturing processes, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and knowledge transfer.
  • • This role is ideal for an individual who thrives in a dynamic environment, possesses strong analytical skills, and is eager to make a tangible impact on the production of advanced technological products.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related technical field, with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
  • • Demonstrated English communication capability, both written and verbal, is essential for effective collaboration with global teams and partners.
  • • Experience or foundational knowledge of Printed Circuit Board (PCB) assembly, including familiarity with Surface Mount Technology (SMT) lines.
  • • Proven hands-on experience in laboratory experimentation and data analysis, with the ability to interpret results and draw meaningful conclusions.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Competitive salary and equity package, reflecting your skills and contributions.
  • • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage to support your health and well-being.
  • • 401(k) retirement plan to help you plan for the future.
  • • Flexible vacation and time-off policy, promoting a healthy work-life balance.
