• • In this pivotal role, the Accounts Assistant will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless execution of our finance operations. This is a hands-on position that encompasses a wide array of responsibilities, including managing supplier payments, handling banking activities, performing crucial reconciliations, and providing comprehensive general finance support. You will work in close collaboration with the Management Accountant and the broader finance team, playing a vital part in maintaining accurate financial reporting and optimizing the efficiency of our financial processes.
• • **Accounts Payable & Supplier Management:**
• • Take ownership of reviewing and posting purchase invoices accurately and efficiently.
• • Prepare and execute timely supplier payments, encompassing both domestic and international transactions, ensuring all payments are processed according to agreed terms.
• • Conduct thorough reconciliations of supplier statements, proactively identifying and resolving any discrepancies or queries related to invoice payments to maintain strong supplier relationships.
• • Maintain and update supplier records with precision, ensuring all relevant information is current and accessible.
• • **Banking & Reconciliations:**
• • Perform daily and weekly bank reconciliations across multiple bank accounts, ensuring all transactions are accounted for and discrepancies are promptly addressed.
• • Reconcile various payment gateways, including but not limited to Shopify, Stripe, PayPal, and Amazon, to ensure accurate tracking of revenue and payment processing.
• • Monitor cash balances diligently, identifying and flagging any discrepancies or potential issues to maintain financial stability.
• • Conduct credit card reconciliations, contributing to enhanced financial oversight and driving efficiencies across our diverse operational platforms.
• • **General Accounting Support:**
• • Provide essential support to the month-end close processes, ensuring all financial data is accurately captured and prepared for reporting.
• • Assist with audit requests and year-end closing procedures, providing necessary documentation and support to external auditors.
• • Handle ad hoc finance requests from various departments within the business, offering timely and accurate financial assistance.
• • **Process & Systems Improvement:**
• • Actively contribute to the improvement of finance processes and internal controls as the business continues its scaling trajectory, identifying areas for enhancement and implementing solutions.
• • Maintain meticulous and accurate records within our accounting system, ensuring data integrity and ease of access.
• • Support the integration between our e-commerce platforms and accounting software, facilitating smoother data flow and reducing manual effort.
