đź“‹ Description
- • The Assistant Manager / Manager / Senior Manager – Enterprise Risk role at KPMG New Zealand is a pivotal position within the firm’s Risk Consulting practice, designed to help clients navigate complex risk landscapes, strengthen governance, and build resilience in an increasingly uncertain business environment. This role matters because it directly supports KPMG’s purpose of inspiring confidence and empowering change by enabling organisations to identify, assess, and mitigate enterprise-wide risks — from operational and strategic to compliance and reputational — thereby safeguarding value and enabling sustainable growth.
- • Day to day, you will lead and deliver enterprise risk management (ERM) engagements, including conducting risk assessments, facilitating risk workshops, designing risk frameworks, and advising clients on risk appetite, tolerance, and reporting structures. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate risk considerations into strategy, operations, and decision-making processes, while mentoring junior consultants and contributing to thought leadership through internal knowledge sharing and external publications. You will also support business development efforts by identifying new opportunities, preparing proposals, and maintaining strong client relationships across industries such as financial services, healthcare, energy, and public sector.
- • You will be part of KPMG’s Enterprise Risk team within the broader Risk Consulting practice in Auckland — a collaborative, high-performing group of professionals dedicated to delivering innovative, insight-driven solutions. The team operates with a strong culture of inclusivity, continuous learning, and technical excellence, leveraging KPMG’s global methodologies and local market expertise to solve clients’ most pressing risk challenges. You’ll work alongside partners, directors, and specialists who are recognised leaders in risk management, internal audit, and regulatory compliance.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in enterprise risk frameworks (such as COSO, ISO 31000, and Basel), sharpen your stakeholder management and advisory skills, and gain exposure to complex, multi-jurisdictional risk challenges. You’ll have the opportunity to lead projects independently, influence client risk culture, and progress toward senior leadership within KPMG’s Risk Consulting line of service — all while benefiting from structured career development, global mobility options, and access to industry-leading training and certifications.
