📋 Description

• • Own end-to-end corporate tax compliance for Jiostar’s India and offshore entities—plan, file and defend Tax audits, TP audits, corporate tax returns and all associated submissions while ensuring zero penalties and on-time closure.
• • Drive closure of legacy litigation by coordinating with internal finance, legal, business teams and external counsel; maintain a living tracker of open cases, next steps and probable financial impact so leadership always has a real-time view.
• • Build and maintain a bullet-proof document repository that supports every tax position and inter-company transaction; your files will be the first line of defence in audits and will set the gold standard for the group.
• • Own deferred-tax accounting—prepare monthly workings, validate tax assets/liabilities under Ind-AS 12 and partner with the GL team to ensure the balance sheet is audit-ready every quarter.
• • Act as the go-to advisor on international tax matters: analyse cross-border deals, apply DTAA provisions, compute withholding-tax obligations, evaluate PE risk and design foreign-company structures that are both compliant and efficient.
• • Conduct deep-dive research on emerging tax issues (e.g., equalisation levy, digital-tax developments, BEPS 2.0) and translate complex legislation into clear, actionable guidance for business and finance stakeholders.
• • Review every new deal term-sheet from a tax lens—model scenarios, quantify leakage and recommend structuring tweaks that optimise cash-tax outflow without compromising commercial intent.
• • Prepare crisp monthly MIS packs for CFO and business heads—highlight KPIs such as effective tax rate, open assessments, cash-tax forecast and litigation heat-map so decisions are data-driven.
• • Champion technology adoption within the tax function—identify and implement automation tools (e.g., Alteryx, Power BI, Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE) that cut manual hours and improve accuracy.
• • Mentor junior team members and interns; create SOPs, run training sessions and build a culture of continuous learning that keeps Jiostar ahead of the regulatory curve.
• • Represent Jiostar before tax authorities at assessment, appellate and advance-ruling stages; your credibility and relationship management will directly influence outcomes.
• • Collaborate with external auditors, cost auditors and secretarial teams during quarterly reviews and annual statutory audits, ensuring tax provisions and disclosures withstand scrutiny.
• • Keep a watchful eye on regulatory updates—subscribe to ICAI/IFLR alerts, attend key webinars and circulate concise briefs so the organisation is never caught off-guard.
• • Contribute to board and investor presentations by translating complex tax strategies into simple narratives that build confidence in Jiostar’s governance and risk posture.
