📋 Description
- • Teach online courses in public health, ensuring alignment with Capella University’s competency-based education model and HLC/accreditation standards to deliver exceptional learner outcomes.
- • Provide doctoral mentoring by chairing and serving on dissertation committees, guiding learners through capstone processes, and facilitating interactive course rooms to support timely completion of doctoral projects.
- • Continuously improve teaching performance by analyzing course feedback and data, implementing changes to enhance learner experience, and refining course content, assessments, and teaching aids.
- • Contribute to curriculum development by designing, reviewing, and updating course plans, objectives, outcomes, and authentic assessment tools with sensitivity to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- • Engage in scholarly activities including publishing research in industry-recognized channels, presenting at national and local professional conferences, and maintaining an active research agenda focused on public health.
- • Participate in school and university governance through active service on faculty and university committees, providing leadership to advance institutional strategy and academic quality.
- • Serve as a subject matter expert in course and program development, supporting accreditation efforts, piloting innovation projects, and ensuring curriculum content remains accurate, relevant, and current.
- • Mentor and provide guidance to other faculty members, sharing best practices and contributing to faculty development initiatives such as webinars, orientation, and Capella-sponsored events.
- • Perform professional service by engaging with professional associations, advocating for the public health field, organizing conferences, and supporting community-based initiatives using public health expertise.
- • Represent Capella University externally through employer partner presentations, job fairs, and institutional events to strengthen the university’s reputation and community impact.
- • Adapt to evolving institutional needs by taking on additional responsibilities such as learner management, field education coordination, B2B partnership support, or accreditation-related tasks as assigned.
- • Maintain a visible, timely, and responsive presence in online courserooms, fostering a trusting learning community and encouraging open exchange of ideas consistent with the learner code of conduct.
- • Apply expertise in biostatistics, epidemiology, policy analysis, or program evaluation to inform teaching, research, and curriculum design.
- • Demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity to learner differences, providing personalized support based on individual strengths, needs, and backgrounds.
- • Utilize qualitative research methods, GIS mapping, financial management, or project management skills to enhance instructional delivery and scholarly contributions.
- • Work more than 40 hours per week as needed to meet academic deadlines, learner support demands, and institutional requirements, with flexibility to adjust schedules as business needs arise.
- • Ensure access to a private, reliable remote work environment with high-speed internet, video conferencing capabilities, and a computer to fulfill all job functions.
- • Travel up to 5–10% of the time for institutional events, conferences, or other business needs, with reasonable accommodations available as required by ADA policies.
