- • You will be instrumental in developing and refining EMC's property underwriting philosophy, policy, forms, products, and programs. This includes the critical responsibility of communicating these strategic elements effectively to both our corporate office and our valued branch office staff, ensuring alignment and consistent application.
- • A key aspect of your role will involve the rigorous analysis of EMC's existing book of business. You will conduct monthly and quarterly performance reviews, identifying trends, opportunities, and potential risks. - • Your leadership will be crucial in establishing and maintaining a robust risk appetite for the property department. This involves a deep assessment of risk exposures, the implementation of effective controls, and the proactive identification and management of emerging risk issues that could affect the department and the company as a whole.
- • You will direct the development and execution of company-wide operational objectives, playing a direct role in achieving the company's ambitious growth and profitability targets.
- • This position carries the significant responsibility of leading and managing enterprise-wide operational consistency, integrity, and oversight for all property lines of business. You will ensure that our underwriting practices are standardized, sound, and compliant across all locations.

You will lead and develop the corporate property underwriting team, fostering an environment of continuous learning, expertise development, and succession planning. This includes identifying top talent, implementing comprehensive development plans for critical positions, and ensuring a strong pipeline of future leaders.
- • You will champion a culture of collaboration, both within the property underwriting department and across other departments and profit centers. Your ability to foster strong working relationships will be essential for cross-functional success.
- • You will serve as a strategic partner to our branch offices, providing expert guidance and support on all property-related matters. This includes responding promptly to their needs and collaborating closely on underwriting philosophy, authorizations, facultative reinsurance requirements, and other complex issues.
- • You will provide overall direction for the delegation of underwriting authority, making informed recommendations for changes to property authority levels as market conditions and business needs evolve.
- • Your leadership will extend to guiding and directing the team in the development of essential underwriting and training tools, both at the branch and enterprise levels, to enhance consistency and proficiency.
- • This role requires occasional travel, and you will need a valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle report.
- • At EMC, we are committed to fostering a collaborative environment where team members can grow, contribute, and gain experience that truly matters. We strive to be caring leaders, close partners, and responsive experts, always supporting each other to do our best work. Join us, and let's improve lives together.
