Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • As an Associate Manager of Merchant Strategy & Operations, Merchant Growth & Profitability at DoorDash, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how over 500,000 local businesses experience and grow with the platform by designing merchant-first go-to-market strategies that align product adoption with merchant profitability and long-term success.
  • • You will drive impact across product, engineering, sales, marketing, and operations teams to reduce friction in the merchant journey, ensuring seamless onboarding, clear communication, and data-informed decision-making that empowers merchants to thrive.
  • • This role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution within DoorDash’s Merchant Team, where you’ll build scalable playbooks and tools that translate complex product offerings into clear, actionable insights for merchants aiming to grow their businesses profitably.
  • • Day to day, you will develop and build critical tools that help merchants understand which DoorDash products best support their growth and profitability, including interactive guides, ROI calculators, and product recommendation frameworks tailored to different business types and sizes.
  • • You will strategize from first principles to design optimal merchant adoption pathways, creating scalable playbooks that standardize best practices across regions and merchant segments while remaining adaptable to local market nuances.
  • • You will analyze operational and financial impacts of your initiatives using SQL and Excel, tracking key metrics such as product adoption rates, merchant retention, incremental revenue, and cost-to-serve to iterate and optimize strategies based on real-world data.
  • • You will lead and collaborate with cross-functional partners in sales, marketing, product, engineering, design, analytics, and operations to align messaging, streamline communications, and ensure cohesive execution of merchant-facing initiatives across all touchpoints.
  • • You will synthesize insights from merchant feedback, market trends, and internal data to identify friction points in the onboarding and adoption process, then design and test solutions that improve clarity, reduce time-to-value, and increase merchant satisfaction.
  • • You will communicate complex strategies and findings through clear, compelling narratives—written, verbal, and visual—to influence stakeholders at all levels, from frontline teams to executive leadership.
  • • You will take ownership of outcomes, demonstrating a bias for action and agility in a fast-paced environment, proactively identifying opportunities to improve processes and driving initiatives forward without waiting for direction.
  • • You will leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, such as automating report generation, summarizing merchant feedback, or simulating scenario outcomes, while maintaining a beginner’s mindset to continuously learn and adapt to emerging technologies.
  • • You will work within a mission-driven culture at DoorDash that values empathy, innovation, and inclusivity, where your contributions directly support the goal of empowering local economies by helping merchants succeed in an increasingly digital marketplace.
  • • In this role, you will develop deep expertise in B2B SaaS go-to-market strategy, merchant lifecycle management, and data-driven product optimization—skills that are highly transferable and valuable for future leadership roles in strategy, product, or operations.
  • • You will gain visibility and influence across multiple functions, building a strong cross-functional network and establishing yourself as a trusted advisor who can bridge technical, commercial, and operational perspectives to deliver measurable business impact.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 5+ years of experience in consulting, strategy, product management, product operations, or a related field
  • • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, compelling narratives—written, verbal, and visual
  • • Demonstrated bias to action and agility—you move quickly, thrive in fast-paced environments, and lead from the front with ownership and initiative
  • • Proficiency in SQL and/or Excel for analyzing operational and financial impacts of decisions
  • • Strong business acumen, including assessing risks, opportunities, and trade-offs to support both short-term needs and long-term goals
  • • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • • Comfort leveraging AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, and problem-solving, with a proactive mindset to explore and apply emerging technologies

  • • Flexible paid time off (PTO) for salaried roles, plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year
