- • Welocalize, Inc. is seeking an experienced Audio Recording Director for a Hindi-language studio recording project based in New Delhi, India. This freelance role involves directing live, in-person recording sessions to produce culturally authentic, high-quality audio content for a global data initiative. The position is ideal for professionals passionate about guiding performers and ensuring linguistic and cultural precision in spoken media.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include directing performers during recording sessions to achieve accurate, engaging, and emotionally resonant delivery; providing real-time, constructive feedback to enhance vocal performance, clarity, and authenticity; collaborating with studio engineers and production teams to ensure technical and artistic standards are met; supervising both scripted and improvised content to maintain energy, spontaneity, and cultural relevance; and troubleshooting session disruptions to maintain workflow efficiency and session continuity.
- • The role requires availability for 4–8 hours per day, up to 2+ days weekly, over a 3-week project period starting April 2026, with potential extension. Work occurs in a professional studio environment in Delhi, demanding punctuality, adaptability, and strong interpersonal skills to manage diverse talent and production needs.
- • You will join a collaborative, mission-driven team at Welo Data (a Welocalize division) focused on creating impactful, linguistically diverse AI training data. This role offers direct influence on the quality and cultural authenticity of Hindi language datasets used in global technology applications.
- • Beyond technical direction, you’ll develop leadership and interpersonal coaching skills by guiding performers through hesitation, building confidence, and eliciting natural, expressive performances—valuable experience applicable to media production, education, and performance arts.
- • The project emphasizes cultural relevance and linguistic accuracy, providing an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to inclusive AI development while honing expertise in spoken language direction and studio production.
🎯 Requirements
- • Native or professional proficiency (C1/C2 level) in both English and Hindi, with demonstrated ability to discern linguistic nuances, accents, and cultural appropriateness in spoken performance.
- • Background in public speaking, acting, teaching, voice coaching, or related performance fields is highly desirable, with proven ability to guide and motivate individuals in live or recorded settings.
- • Strong communication and leadership skills, including the capacity to deliver constructive feedback, address performer hesitation, encourage authentic improvisation, and maintain a positive, productive studio environment under tight schedules.
