📋 Description

• As an Automation Developer at ALX Africa, you will design, build, and maintain scalable automation systems that directly support the organisation’s mission to empower 2 million Africans with sustainable tech careers by 2030, eliminating manual work and accelerating operational efficiency across sales, marketing, and internal teams.
• You will translate complex business needs into reliable, secure, and scalable automation workflows that connect CRM, marketing, and operational systems, enabling teams to move faster and focus on high-impact work.
• Day to day, you will build and maintain complex, high-reliability automation workflows using platforms like n8n, developing custom connectors and nodes in JavaScript or Python to integrate systems such as HubSpot, Jotform, and internal tools via APIs, webhooks, and authentication flows.
• You will prototype and deploy internal automation tools and agents that enhance go-to-market operations, continuously improving infrastructure to support new tools, workflows, and AI-enabled capabilities while establishing best practices for testing, documentation, monitoring, and version control.
• You will partner closely with shared services, key stakeholders, engineering teams, and CRM specialists to gather requirements and deliver robust technical solutions that prioritise security, reliability, and scalability.
• You will work within ALX Africa’s mission-driven, remote-first culture, contributing to a growing organisation with hubs across 8 African cities and a proven track record of upskilling 347k+ graduates since 2020, empowering youth into tech careers and entrepreneurship.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in modern automation orchestration, API integration, and scalable system design while gaining exposure to AI-enabled workflows and high-growth tech environments, positioning you as a technical leader in operational efficiency and digital transformation.

🎯 Requirements

• 4–6 years of experience in automation development, integrations, IT systems automation, or software engineering
• Strong programming skills in JavaScript and/or Python
• Hands-on experience with automation orchestration platforms (n8n preferred) and REST APIs, webhooks, and authentication frameworks
• Experience integrating CRM and marketing technology ecosystems (e.g., HubSpot)
• Familiarity with lightweight data platforms such as Airtable, Notion, or Smartsheets
• Proven ability to design and deliver secure, scalable, and reliable automation solutions
