- • The AVP of Solution Engineering leads a team of Solutions Engineering leaders supporting Tanium’s Federal and State & Local Government businesses, driving technical win rates and delivering differentiated value to government customers while preserving Tanium’s culture.
- • Day to day, the role involves partnering with Sales and Customer Success to manage the customer journey from technical discovery to adoption and expansion, hiring and retaining talent, conducting 1:1s and performance management, ensuring technical enablement, holding leaders accountable for culture, making data-driven decisions, delegating resources, facilitating team meetings, managing account assignments, influencing product direction, guiding GTM strategy, driving innovation, leading technical demonstrations, participating in marketing events, owning sales escalations, and assisting other regions as needed.

- • In this role, the person will learn to lead complex public sector technical sales efforts, deepen expertise in government procurement and compliance frameworks, shape product strategy through customer influence, and grow as a strategic leader driving innovation and team development within a recognized industry leader.
🎯 Requirements
- • 10+ years in the industry with solid technical skills in networking, security, operations, scripting, and/or programming
- • Demonstrated experience selling into Federal (civilian and/or DoD) and/or State & Local Government
- • Deep understanding of government procurement processes (FAR/DFARS, contract vehicles, GSA schedules) and familiarity with federal compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, FISMA, CMMC, NIST 800-53)
- • Proven effective leadership of a technical team with a hands-on, collaborative, and proactive approach
- • Strong executive presence and comfort presenting to CIOs, CISOs, and mission owners

- • Annual base salary range of $243,000 to $373,000, commission eligible
