  • • Lead and establish the newly formed Technology Procurement & Supplier Management function at Humana, a critical role in shaping the company's high-performance Procurement and Supplier Management Operating Model.
  • • Drive the translation of supplier value into tangible stakeholder value, ensuring effective management of supplier risk and performance in close collaboration with the Technology organization.
  • • Develop and execute comprehensive category and sourcing strategies across all technology spend areas, including Software, Cloud, Hardware, Telecoms, and Labor/Services, for the entire enterprise.
  • • Serve as the primary business engagement point for Technology stakeholders, fostering deep partnerships and understanding their strategic objectives to align procurement efforts.
  • • Oversee the comprehensive supplier management of all segmented technology suppliers, adhering strictly to enterprise supplier management standards and best practices.
  • • Provide executive leadership to a Technology Procurement and Supplier Management team of over 30 associates, managing an annual spend of $1.8 billion.
  • • Develop, manage, and execute leading category strategies, strategic sourcing initiatives, and robust supplier management programs for all technology-related categories and subcategories, including software renewals, infrastructure, and services, across Technology, business segments, and corporate functions.
  • • Act as a strategic business partner to the Technology Leadership Team, gaining an in-depth understanding of their business strategies to ensure category and sourcing strategies deliver maximum value from the external marketplace.
  • • Guide the Procurement and Supplier Management (PSM) team in partnering with stakeholder organizations and Tech Finance to identify, prioritize, and pursue short-, mid-, and long-term sourcing opportunities.
  • • Establish and maintain the role as a trusted strategic business partner to leadership teams, building meaningful relationships and adapting to a challenger model to drive optimal outcomes.
  • • Drive strong demand planning and management processes, ensuring alignment with budget objectives and financial forecasts.
  • • Elevate the practice of supplier management in close collaboration with the Enterprise Supplier Management Center of Excellence, ensuring consistency and effectiveness across the organization.
  • • Lead the Procurement team and stakeholders in the joint development, execution, and continuous monitoring of best-in-class category strategies that deliver valuable business outcomes.
  • • Direct the team in segmenting the supply base and developing preferred supplier lists, evaluating supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models and benchmarking analysis.
  • • Champion supplier diversity and sustainability initiatives by actively selecting diverse and environmentally conscious suppliers for RFX processes.
  • • Conduct thorough market analyses, competitive bids, cost modeling, and benchmarking to validate fair and reasonable pricing for new awards and contract renewals.
  • • Maintain a robust project pipeline to consistently achieve target savings or spend reduction goals year-over-year.
  • • Lead the sourcing of strategic suppliers, negotiate complex contracts, and manage supplier performance against critical business requirements for high-risk and enterprise-critical engagements that significantly impact Humana’s operations or profitability.
  • • Collaborate closely with the Sourcing Organization to ensure all sourced spend is executed and managed in strict accordance with established category plans and strategies.
  • • Lead the Supplier Management team and stakeholders in the joint management of the segmented supplier base, ensuring contractual value is consistently delivered and new value is actively created.
  • • Leverage the enterprise supplier relationship management framework to guide the team in onboarding and appropriately segmenting suppliers.
  • • Proactively manage supplier risk and incidents, driving timely root cause analysis, escalation, corrective actions, and ensuring operational continuity and transparency.
  • • Execute comprehensive supplier performance management processes, including facilitating regular business reviews and ongoing performance evaluations, while building and maintaining strategic relationships with key suppliers.
  • • Utilize enterprise processes to foster supplier collaboration, drive capability development, and harness innovation from the supplier base.
  • • Oversee the compliant management of supplier transitions and exits, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • • Anticipate and proactively support the evolving needs of technology stakeholders, adapting strategies and processes as required.
  • • Drive process optimization initiatives and the elimination of spend through unapproved buying channels within assigned technology categories.
  • • Provide effective coaching, development, and growth opportunities to team members, strengthening the talent bench across the organization and fostering a culture of high performance.
  • • Collaborate with finance and business leaders to identify total cost of ownership (TCO) opportunities and rigorously validate project savings claims.
  • • Develop talent within the team, cultivating a culture of performance, ownership, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • • Ensure the team operates with a mindset of progress over perfection, embracing diverse thoughts and perspectives to drive innovation and efficiency.
