- • Architect and evolve the core Ruby on Rails API that powers Codekeeper’s next-generation software-escrow platform, ensuring every line of code you write is secure, performant, and ready to scale from hundreds to millions of transactions.
- • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of new product features—from white-boarding and schema design to deployment and post-release monitoring—while collaborating daily with front-end engineers who rely on your GraphQL/REST endpoints to deliver pixel-perfect React interfaces.
- • Champion test-driven development by writing RSpec and Minitest suites that keep our test coverage above 90 %, enabling continuous deployment multiple times a day without fear of regressions.
- • Optimize PostgreSQL queries and design data models that balance normalization with read performance, ensuring sub-100 ms response times for critical escrow verification workflows.
- • Leverage AWS primitives (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, SQS) to build fault-tolerant, auto-scaling infrastructure; you will script infrastructure as code with Terraform and automate CI/CD pipelines via GitHub Actions.
- • Collaborate in agile, two-week sprints where retros, pair programming, and code reviews are the norm; expect to both mentor junior developers and be mentored by senior architects in a culture of radical candor.
- • Contribute to architectural decisions on service extraction, event-driven design, and eventual migration to a micro-service mesh as we grow beyond our monolithic Rails app.
- • Build and maintain secure, versioned APIs that integrate with third-party SaaS marketplaces, legal-tech partners, and enterprise identity providers (SAML, OAuth 2.0).
- • Instrument everything—Datadog dashboards, custom metrics, and distributed tracing—so that performance anomalies are caught before customers notice.
- • Participate in rotating on-call duties with a blameless post-mortem culture; we ship resilient software, but when things break we learn together and improve.
- • Shape product direction by translating customer feedback from our Customer Success team into actionable engineering tasks, ensuring that every feature solves real escrow pain points.
- • Keep security at the forefront: conduct threat modeling, dependency scanning, and regular penetration-test remediation to protect the source-code assets entrusted to us.
- • Experiment fearlessly: prototype new ideas in Python or Node.js micro-services when Ruby isn’t the best tool, then bring learnings back to the team.
- • Foster a remote-first culture across time zones (CET ±3) through concise documentation, recorded demos, and asynchronous stand-ups that respect deep-work hours.
- • Celebrate wins together—whether it’s shipping a major release, shaving 50 % off an endpoint’s latency, or simply sharing a clever refactoring during Friday lightning talks.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years of professional experience building production-grade APIs with Ruby on Rails
- • Demonstrated expertise in AWS cloud services and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or CloudFormation)
- • Solid grasp of relational databases (PostgreSQL) including indexing, query optimization, and migrations
- • Experience writing automated tests (RSpec, Minitest, or similar) and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- • Nice-to-have: working knowledge of React front-end patterns and TypeScript
