Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Own the end-to-end design, launch, and continuous improvement of Veritas Veterinary Partners’ national campus programs, creating the bridge between top-tier veterinary talent and our network of 24/7 specialty hospitals across the United States.
  • • Develop and execute a scalable strategy that attracts final-year DVM students, new graduates, and rotating interns to immersive externships, summer intensives, and mentorship tracks—positioning Veritas Veterinary Partners as the employer-of-choice for the next generation of veterinary specialists.
  • • Partner with deans, faculty, and career-services teams at every AVMA-accredited college of veterinary medicine to secure prime placement in lecture series, career fairs, and on-campus interview days—while simultaneously building a virtual presence that reaches students on TikTok, Instagram, and emerging vet-med communities.
  • • Craft compelling, data-driven marketing collateral—think interactive program brochures, bite-size reels, and immersive VR walk-throughs of our state-of-the-art ICUs and surgical suites—that authentically showcase our collaborative culture and cutting-edge caseload.
  • • Build and manage a nationwide ambassador network of current interns, residents, and recent hires who serve as peer influencers, webinar hosts, and campus visit panelists—arming them with talking points, swag kits, and travel budgets to amplify our brand story.
  • • Design a seamless candidate journey from first touchpoint to Day-1 onboarding: automated nurture emails, Slack-based Q&A sessions, white-glove travel coordination for onsite interviews, and a digital welcome portal that introduces new hires to their future mentors before they even graduate.
  • • Establish KPIs (application volume, offer-acceptance rate, diversity mix, 12-month retention) and own the dashboard that tracks them—turning anecdotal feedback into actionable insights that refine program content, stipend levels, and rotation schedules.
  • • Collaborate cross-functionally with Medical Directors, HR Business Partners, and Marketing to ensure every externship rotation aligns with hospital staffing needs, DEI goals, and brand voice—while also meeting AVMA accreditation standards and university requirements.
  • • Pilot innovative learning formats—simulation labs, tele-mentoring rounds, and weekend emergency boot camps—that give students hands-on exposure to high-acuity cases under the guidance of board-certified surgeons, internists, and criticalists.
  • • Negotiate and manage annual program budgets (stipends, travel, events, tech) ensuring a 3:1 ROI through reduced cost-per-hire and increased employee lifetime value.
  • • Serve as the primary escalation point for university partners and student applicants, resolving scheduling conflicts, housing issues, and curriculum questions with empathy and speed.
  • • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion by partnering with minority-serving institutions, creating scholarship pathways, and tracking demographic data to ensure equitable access to our programs.
  • • Continuously scan the competitive landscape—BluePearl, VCA, NVA, specialty independents—to benchmark stipends, rotation lengths, and marketing tactics, then pivot quickly to keep Veritas Veterinary Partners in the lead.
  • • Report quarterly to the VP of Talent & Culture and the Executive Leadership Team, presenting program growth metrics, success stories, and strategic recommendations for national expansion into Canada and the UK.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 5+ years designing and running university relations, campus recruiting, or veterinary externship programs—preferably within a multi-site specialty or emergency hospital group
  • • Proven ability to build trusted relationships with veterinary school faculty, student clubs, and national organizations such as SAVMA, VBMA, or IVSA
  • • Data-driven mindset with advanced Excel, Tableau, or Looker skills to track funnel metrics and ROI
  • • Exceptional project-management chops: you can juggle 50+ concurrent externship schedules without missing a beat
  • • Nice-to-have: DVM or VMD degree, or prior clinical experience in specialty or emergency practice

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Fully remote role with quarterly all-expenses-paid team summits in rotating U.S. cities (next up: Nashville, San Diego, Boston)
  • • Annual professional-development stipend of $3,500 for conferences, CE courses, or certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP, PMP)
  • • Unlimited PTO policy plus one paid volunteer day per quarter to support animal-welfare nonprofits of your choice
  • • Comprehensive health, dental, vision, and mental-wellness coverage—including 12 free therapy sessions per year via Talkspace
  • • Stock-option plan with four-year vesting, giving you ownership in the fastest-growing veterinary specialty network in North America
